ok well here goes
firstly.. THIS IS NOT MY IDEA , credit goes to "Syllia" from the silkroadonline.net forums. ( original found in "blabla" section )
well this is what u have to do.
its simple, i even attempted and suceeded
found it, it worked for me and my mate, and we are both on different connections. so i thought id share it with you lot. enjoy if it works for you, pray it does. lol
here it is. >>>>>>>>>>>>
After 12 hours of slaving through various forums, I pieced together this solution.Worked for me at least
Start up Notepad, open the HOSTS file which is found in your C\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc directory and add the following line
80.15.232.4 nprotect.nefficient.com
it should look something like this
# Copyright c 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments such as these may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a # symbol.
#
# For example
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
80.15.232.4 nprotect.nefficient.com
<<<<<<<<<< that was the original content from silkroadonline.net forums.
ALSO! <<< at first i tryed to copy and paste "C\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc"
does not work, you will find the folder called C\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc, but you must open the first file in there ( was for me ) if not scan through all and you will find one exactly like the once shown above.
simple. it works, and now im fightign to get through the server trafic because i decided to share this one and dc'd manualy *rolls eyes, smacks forehead *
also try
Run Notepad
Go to FileOpen
C\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
Which means you
Go to C Drive WINDOWS folder system32 folder drivers folder etc folder, worked that way for my friend but did not for me.
