Hi there, I was searching for a new MMORPG that do not had monthly fees (don't mind if had to buy game cd/cd-key or no), and I noticed SilkRoad, and was free so it realy called my attention, so I decided give it a try, downloaded the client file and in midle installation a error apear saying file was corrupt, so re-downloaded and this time made sure download manager were download while file in 1 single sector instead split it (for a void corruption), and whata suprise when I went open file a ms-dos box pop-up and auto closes so I thought "some thing wrong here for sure" I went to the:
"Run" > "cmd" and wrote:
D:\"SilkroadOnlinevGlobalOfficial v1.01" for it force open file withotu auto close the dos box, and I saw this error message:
One or more CON code pages invalid for given keyboard code
Program too big to fit in memory
I even managed to get ride of the 1st error line (I closed all my applications currently open) but didn't managed to fix the 2nd error, I closed EVERYTHING! and even defragged my memmory, but stil kept same error....
I have a P4 3Ghz, 512MB DDR 400, GeForxe FX 5600 256MB, I can run any game I want on this actual pc, but can't even run the INSTALL! of SilkRoad..., so how can I solve this???
Now what relay annoyed me was, I went to game official site (
http://www.silkroadonline.net), and I registered myself for ask help in their forum, and whata suprise I can't create topics/replies UNTIL I play game for first time...., IF I can't install game how is supose I play it????, I even tried the "Bug Report" and same pop up message apeared about I can't post nothing yet...., this is pure and simple STUPID!!!, if people has problems installing game how is supose they ask help? if they don't even have ANY email adress no where on site... and NEED play game for first time for be able post on forums..., so the wize guy Webmaster of official game site is just a genious (been sarcastic) with so much anti-spamming protections he tried made I can see people spaming over 5 topics with same message withotu problems and a person who can't install game and try ask help can't ask help til PLAY GAME for first time.... this is just pure stupid... no offense but ....
All I wanted was try this game, for it's features and screenshots game apears to be cool, but how can I install it or ask to their official tech support help on insattling this???
Because 1 thing I know, if the 1st downloaded file I could execute it but then was corrupt in midle, the 2nd downloaded file say i'm out of memmory???, and yeha I alreayd re-downlaoded it for 3rd time and same problems stil
