This just started yesterday. I'm getting a "physical memory dump" blue screen and have to restart. Was playing with a friend last night, talking on Skype, and he mentioned that he was getting the same blue screen. Is there a known problem with a recent patch? I'm certain that it involves SRO somehow because it is the only piece of software that's being used outside of IE and Outlook (and Norton but my friend uses McAfee so that's not a constant between the two systems).
It doesn't happen everytime. For example, I played for sevral hours yesterday and then it happened again. After restarting, it happened a few minutes after having gotten back into the game. I set up a stall yesterday during the day to come back and find the blue screen. I set the stall up again late last night before bed, came back and it was fine. Made some sales, even. Closed the stall, was leaving town and boom, blue screen.
Any thoughts?

i'm still tihnking it's something with SRO, esp since someone else began having the same error message on the same day. Also, I am able to play other games and do everything else on my pc.
Any additional thoughts would be appreciated.

This problem is related to either hardware or driver faulty. it can be incredible difficult to solve these kinds of problem.
These kinds of error usually happens because the person buys a computer, which has hardware made to work together. And later on the person either upgrade one part of the hardware (ex graphic card) which doesn't work correctly with the other hardware (ex power supply). Or the person have downloaded newer drivers for ex chip set, which causes it not not work properly with other drivers.
To solve this, you most know basically every part of the computer hardware you have. You can do this with Everest, read the sticky (big technical thread to find a link for download).
Then you need to begin to think when did this problem start to occur and what have I done at the moment before it started to happen.

That's just it....I haven't done anything new. No updates, no new hardware or software, no modification of any drivers or settings...the only thing that has been done with that PC for the last couple of weeks is to check email, post on this forum and play SRO. That's what is so aggrivating about it all - nothing has changed. That is why I was lokoing towards a possible update from SRO to be the cause. I also thought it may be also because another player was getting the blue screen as well. But, instead of clarification, I jumped teh frustration gun and assumed. As it turns out, his is a different issue altogether.
I did run a report on the dump file and it was indicating "symbols" as it applies to a file called ntoskrnl.exe. I googled it and found a considerable amount of information that most times resorted in other links and a pretty massive circle of things that ended up with nothing conclusive. I've posted on a tech forum which appears to be a fairly active and knowledgable and got a pretty prompt reply. So, I am going to try out some of their recommendations and go from there. It's aggrivating to be in the midst of combat and then have the computer restart. fortunately, of the 8 or 9 times this has happened, I've only died once - thanks much to auto potions, I'm sure....kept me alive until it detected that I had disconnected. I've reconnected to find myself face first in a mountside or a wall of the town.
Anyhoo, I'll be sure to post and let everyone know, that's interested, what goes on and how things manage. Thanks for the input. i'm thinking some new RAM might be on the menu.

Well, well well....culprit has (as of now I believe) been discovered. I ran a few tests with MemTest with both sticks in the mobo. Failed. The system got about 20 minutes into the test and the computer shut off. I took out the stick in slot 2 and ran the test. The computer shut down after 3 minutes of the MemTest. I replaced it with the other stick. It ran for almost an hour before shutting off. Hmm. Bad slot? Let's look at a hunch. CPU temp: 208°F. Ugh. Problem found. Checked the fan and it was running but evidently not efficiently enough. The system is about a year old so it's not surprising, I guess. I'm not sure why my alarm didn't notify me of the temps. I checked the chip both physically and technically and there appears to be no harm done to the chip. I'm now running a ThermalTake water-cooling system on my processor. I ran the MemTest again which made the processor work it's ass off. This time, it ran for a little over 4 hours before I manually stopped it. I then checked them temp - 116°F. Nice. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to try it out on several hours of SRO yet, but that'll come soon enough.
Thanks for the input folks. I'll let you know if this was the problem or simply one poblem I was lucky enough to discover the process of searching for the actual cause. I'm aslo running an additional desktop monitor which gives em the stats on my hardware, including temps.
