So I played SRO like 2-3 years ago, and my computer died. I never got back around to downloading it, but not a big loss for me since I didn't talk to anyone there. Recently I've found out that quite a few of my friends have played it/do play it, and we are all trying to start up again. However, when I tried downloading the P2P from the website, after the 4 hour download it did not open for an unknown reason. I was upset and gave up, but then I got a new laptop for Christmas. Happy, I tried again. However when I tried to install, it says "not enough space on disk drive" or something like that. How is this possible, if I am on a brand new laptop? It says I have more than enough free space when viewing from "my computer." What are some solutions or other ways to be able to play SRO on this computer?

Please check your settings for Virtual Disk Space. It should be default, or it would say, "Let Windows Handle it". When Installing, SRO uses Virtual Disk Space, and somebody might have put a smaller amount there for whatever reason.

if you right click the properties of your Hard disk, it should show enough disk space(I presume). There should be no problem, though I want you to check if there is at least 6GB free space left.

Also, there could be an error in the downloaded file itself, and may be checking for a number much bigger than what is really needed. Try to get a new copy of the installation file.

However, there is another reason, which is rare, but it happened to me four times since 1986 on computers I have installed applications to. There is a real hardware problem - and that is the hard disk itself. It is Damaged. It may look fine, act fine, but when you do a full Defragmentation, Bad Clusters appear, and they get bigger. Your Laptop should have a minimum of 4OGB, which is usually the standard for older laptops, or 80GB, a standard for commercial laptops. whatever it may be, it is Big enough.

If you have checked all the above, have someone knowledgeable check it for you. If it does not work, your laptop is still covered by it's warranty period. Simply have the Hard Disk Replaced.
