i suggest you all defragment your computers here is how

1.open start menu
2.go to programs
3.go to accessories
4.go to system tools
5.go to disk defragmentor
6.when it opens click on defragment

now if you have never done this before it will take a long time mabye 2-3 hours but when it finishes it will run so much faster

i also recomend

Ccleaner
JKdefrag
Ad-Aware
these are all good programs ive tried my self

Credit to Poochu for finding a good program called JK Defrag

Defragmenting was WAY more important back in the days of DOS and Windows 98 and prior releases. FAT and FAT32 had horrible file allocation algorithms. NTFS (used in XP) is a lot better, but still does fragment some, so defragmenting in Windows XP/Vista is still useful.

At least I don't have to do that on my system running Linux with the EXT3 and EXT2 file system. I just hope SRO continues to run without any problems on it. So far so good.

 Linux

I may have to try that jkdefrag on my XP systems to see how it works out. I do use windows defrag once in a while when I actually boot into XP. I mainly stick to Linux though.

..and

if none of these work, just assume a script or new type of bug has infested/wrecked your computer and a good wholesome clean install will cure any issues you had before LOL

These are good for Windows computers, but what about Linux? So far, I haven't really had a need for any system maintenance tools on my Linux box - it's been running quite well for a while. I know there are some antivirus programs available for Linux

- http://www.f-prot.com/products/home_use/linux/
- http://www.clamav.net

Symantec also has an antivirus for Linux, but I cannot find a download page or a purchase page for it. Here is a system requirements page: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/ppfdocs/2005110716014248

There is no registry in Linux, so no regcleaner.
