hi there.

i've been enjoying silkroad online for the past week or so,
but while playing with different skills and levelling up cold
as well as some lightning and force (healing and such) and
heuksal, i stumbled upon a possible problem, which i will
formulate as a question, hoping someone can answer it to
my satisfaction:

'is there enough room for points in mastery to fill out all
trees, or should i start worrying about doing the cursed
hearts quest over and over and try to salvage some of my
mis-spent points?'

if the answer would be no, i would feel strongly compelled
to create a new character to get it right this time.. i mainly
spent points in healing because i wanted to help out friends
and spent points in lightning because i think it's nice to be
able to hurt multiple targets at once and well.. cold to kill
before a mob could do much damage to me.

oh well. time shall tell :) thanks in advance for your time.

*update*

i think i just answered my own question. i had searched for
the answer on these forums before posting, but hadn't found
anything. but just now, while reading a thread about grass-
walking, i found:

What else are you going to get?

Seriously, you have 300 mastery points and each tree maxes out at 80 mastery. You can either max out 3 trees and leave a fourth at 60, or max out 2 trees and leave 2 more at 70. Or you can do some other combo but I wouldn't recommend it because 5 masteries at 60 isn't as great as it might sound.

Seriously, picked a single weapon skill. Bamm, that's 1 maxed out mastery. Now, either go Force or don't. If you go Force then take it to 80 to be useful with rezzes for any level player. If you don't take Force then you can easily nab Ice, Fire, AND Lightning. One will go to 80 and you can either picked a third to take to 80 and the last to 60 or take the last two to 70 each.

Then again, this is ALOT of skill points for that, which means farming tons of SPs, which is why the koreans wait until the have 30K before progressing past level 30.

in short: now i have to decide or perhaps even calculate if the points
mis-spent so far would not hinder future upgrades of trees i do want
to keep.

though perhaps a new character would be good to farm sp.

thanks to whoever took the time to read this.

You can always do the Resuscitation potion quest which lets you delevel skills and get most of the skillpoints back. And it's repeatable infinite times.

Resuscutation takes a TON of gold. You have to delevel the skills first before deleveling the masteries. If you've gone far enough ahead then you might want to consider rerolling or sticking with it.

Also, while I point out that having 3 maxed out trees is possible at 80... the skill points you will need for that will have you farming from now until doomsday.

If you want my advise if you do start over...

Make a new char. Save all skill points. Don't raise a single mastery until level 8. At this point, you get a new weapon set. Then take your weapon of choice you intend on using for the rest of your characters career and bring it up to 5. Pick an imbue you'll like the most and grab that. Leave your mastery for a weapon and a element at 5. Now go level until you reach 12. At 12 bring those skill tree's you want to eventually get up to 6. Stick with this 6 level difference until 30. Then you can decide if you've had enough farming to make you mind numbingly bored of the game or if you still have hopes for the best damn character that you can make.

hm. thanks for the detailed reply :)

i am not sure what you mean by 'pick an imbue', but i think it's
one of the first cold/lightning/fire spells, which adds magical da-
mage to your weapon.

i will have to wait a bit for my two test-characters to be deleted
after a week of inactivity, but i can use that time to play with my
flawed character and gather gold, items, etc for my new one.
