Just for the side effects? I understand the damage would be sucky at level 20+, but something like the Cold imbue has a nice slowing effect, is it worth having just for that do you think? I'm a blade user with high STR.

in the beginning, any imbue would be useful, i think.

plus... would only be 2 sp used... maybe around 10 if you wanna include the masteries...

either way... lvl 1 imbue isn't horrible... and not really a waste.

I was thinking of doing the same thing, just going for a lvl 1 ice skill just for the slow effect, would be useful.. though not sure how using it on higher mobs would effect them.. if its like most games they would resist it, rendering it pretty much useless. hopefully some one knows for sure

No resists that I know of in the game. A level 1 cold river force has a 25% chance to add frostbite on a level 1 monster as on a level 80. Higher level versions just make it last longer, require a higher spell or universal pill to recover from, and give a higher chance to go off.

That's good to know, I took a level 1 knockdown skill hoping for it to work the same way - don't want to spend any further in it for now :D

Will try the level 1 ice, although I'm almost pure STR so it might be too mana intensive to use alongside my other skills.

Having taken a level 1 Ice imbue, I can definitely say it's worth it. My mana usage per monster has actually gone DOWN, the extra damage per regular sword hit makes a huge difference even for a level 1 skill. Additionally, with a sword the slowing/freezing effects come really often, and much reduce the amount of health potions needed. Good stuff!

i'd advise you not to level it up though, the rise in mana cost after level 1 imbue gets ridiculous, and the extra damage isn't all that much to make up for it.

Oh I definitely don't intend to. An extra 10 mana for a measly 2-5 more damage per hit is not worth it, for someone with 44% magical balance. I might spend some spare points in Force or Fire categories to get their level 1 passive boosts though.
