Ladies and gentlemen...I'm planning to make a cookie-cutter-ish bitcheon/hybrid nuker! (without spear, im not screaming in joy at the fact i
i'd have to buy two weapons) and i need some help/advice

So ill list my questions in point form to make it easier to answer D:

-Is spear really necessary for pvm? How much damage (%) does it do compared to a sword. Go ahead and guesstimate
-Is hybrid the way to go? ATM, im pure int cause i plan to get a 90% mag balance than start a 1:2 int hybrid build. I plan to pvp later on.
-Will a 1:2 give me enough hp? or am i better off going full int? (I think this is the same question XD)
-Do i really need the Heuskal tree or can i put those 60 points into cold or force? Maybe forget about force.
-Is the illusion chain skill good for a nuker?
-Can you guys list the types of nuke combos or chains...or am i just talking nonsense?
-Do i max out 1st book fire nuke?
-I plan to farm a total of 30-35k sp... approximately how long will this take? (without ticket T__T) and will it be enough to get to lvl 50ish?
-I bought a lvl 16 +3 blade (7 crit, +3 str/int, good ar, good phys dmg, meh mag dmg) Will i pwn in the bandit den? Btw i got it for 1,350,000
-Which is better a lvl 16 +3 spear (9 crit, same phys dmg as blade, higher mag dmg, no +str/int, low ar, same price)?
-Its kinda late cause i bought the blade but... I NEED TO KNOW XD
-Is it fun?

Oh yeah by the way, i plan on being a fire/lightning nuker with maybe cold buffs if i dont get the heuskal stuff.

I'd really appreciate if you could answer some if not all of my questions!

Wow awesome guide Kitary! Answers all my questions on skills... though still a little unclear wether i should get spear for the hp increase/better mag dmg and stun or cold for the def buff/passive.

Also, i heard blade is the slowest weapon to farm with... T___T it can't be true, can it?

i gather using blade is the slowest levelling way because --- you have to spend a lot of time running to get within range of ur enemy to hit them....

To answer a few more of your questions and to give my impressions :-

- a lot of people start out intent on being pure int or str and end up changing their mind several times during their levelling. hence u end up with hybrids and degrees of "purity". some players use the strategy of starting out with pure STR till about level 30+ then go pure INT because after about level 30 the nukes begin to outstrip pure STR skills as a way of dealing damage. Basically, nukes are not available until late level 20s anyway and pure INTs below level 30 tend to struggle against the monsters.

- some people don't bother farming until they get to level 40 or so when it might be less crowded to farm good spots instead of the very crowded bandit den (lot sof ksing unless you have a good sox bow).

- how do you decide when to farm? this is a decision determined by how you want to enjoy your game. if you are not fussed about being weaker than the SP farmers who have done their farming at level 16-20 and having to run from them when you are level 20-30 then its ok to farm later. SRo is a big map & timezone and trading generally is not always hard to do.

- how long does it take to get to 30-35k SP? A loooong time. SRO's grinding is designed like a lifetime of experience - seriously. Getting 30-35k experience by level 20 is the equivalent of getting ot be as good as bruce lee before age 20. Thats how hard you have to fight and learn. So not everyone aims to be bruce lee - understand?

- but if you do grind hard and in a focussed way i think you can get 35k SP in about 3 months (every night or so i htink - not sure, ok maybe 2 months) but first u have to get that sox bow.

- how good are SOS 16 swords for farming? Ok, but its very slow. Also note you cannot grind in the prime area - bandit den - because it is likely the SOS 16 bow users will ks all ur kills unless they happen to be a bit thin on the ground. They dont ks intentionally, its mor elike its a piranha mentality out there sometimes and teeth just bite on anything available (so i gather)....

so thats my impressions - i think SRO has a great future ahead of it so whichever way u get ur high level 60+ character there is a very long road in SR) (new patches etc) - so dont be dishearetned if u arnet the best pvper on server.

It is a Long Silk Road - so it is partly a journey of philosophy and experience as well ( well, at least for me it is )

No it isn´t.. but lvling is all about the speed at which you kill, and spear just does more damage then a sword. The difference isn´t that big to be worried incase you wanna go with a sword afterall.

At a certain %magical balance (i´d say 8x% or sumthing) it isn´t worth it to use nukes because they give to low damage, and you´ll be wanting to use weapon skills instead. Persionally I think that if you go 1:2 you won´t have enough to really nuke, and rather use weapon skills instead: making your build alot different.

With the new alchemy I think others are better of going pure int =p, but if you wan´t to add in str nobody will blame you for it. Still 2:1 and pure are 2 different things. The first you will mainly be useing weapon skills, and as pure `nukes´.. maybe just keep a 90% balance without equip and see how it works out?

I recommend putting it in heuksel, as it is just an extra security. But that doesn´t mean you can´t put another 60 in cold ^^. Just make sure you stay below 300 mastery points, and think of a lvl cap of around 90.

Not really, they use nukes primary.. if they use weapon skills they probably only want to KD+stab (skills you can get at lvl 19)

Not really.. you´re better of taking just the 2nd and 3rd: 1st book = average damage, lil range. 2nd book = good damage, average range. 3rd book = average damage, good range.. atleast that´s how I see it. You can take it, but only if you´re willing to farm alot more.

If you farm average you can do 2k a day if you know how to? Just incase say 1month.. with everyday a lil.

Not really.. I recommend to enjoy playing and not farm at all, that is till lvl 5/6x. Just take the skills that you need to lvl, and add the rest later: Fire - imbue, 2nd+3rd nuke book max. Lightning - everything except imbue and parry ratio increase (lvl 23 skill) onlt at 1. Heuksel - passive. This way you can get to 60 without farming if my calculations are correct

Can a nuker even get to 5x/6x without farming? Cause i played a glaiver before, without farming and i was pretty much running out of skill points.... but then again i invested quite a bit in buffs.

CAUSE I AM SICK OF 9 GAP AT LOW LVLS..XD, it takes a couple of hours to lvl up at such a low lvl with a 9 gap ...im sure i wont be so bored when i actually get to 16 cause i got a kick ass sos i can play with, but its fricken hard lvling up to get to 16. ATM im 14 with around 1000 sp (truth is 905) but i wanna know how screwed will a nuker be without sp farming at lvl 16? I plan to get to lvl 40 ish (get 5th degree stuff) then sp farm, cause i like 5th degree protectors.

If you want fire, lightning, sword, hueskal/cold you're going to need to sp farm quite a bit, I'd say like 100k if you want to 0 gap it all the way to 60 At 40ish there's nothing too great for a nuker to sp farm on, nothing too fast anyway.

Sor.. but yeah I calculated everything and you should be able to get to 60 without a gap . Just only add in lightning, to lvl up you'll only need:

Skills to get:
Lightning imbue - (max)
Piercing Force - (max)
Grass Walk Flow (max it if sp amount lets you.., otherwise get it as far as possible)
Ghost Walk Phantom - (level 1 ONLY)
Lion Shout - (up to level 37 – book 2 level 1)
Concentration - (book 1 level 1 ONLY)
Lightning Nukes - ( max.. as this is you're primary attack)
Passive - (max)
