Overall Plan: 90 Lightning, 90 Fire, 60 Sword

SKIPPING COLD

I was thinking that 60 mastery Sword/Shield would mean I could forgo the Cold tree completely. Supposedly by level 90 your block is like 6-8% with shield compared to the 82 physical defense you get from ice at 60 mastery. Also, the KD would take the place of the Nova in Cold.

This way, I could stay out of Cold and Spear trees completely and focus on Sword. The only thing I thought that would be a loss is the Cold AoE.

1. Is KD better than Frost Nova in the end game? I read somewhere that KD is dependent on level and that the cap on skills is 69, so at level 90 that is 21 levels difference... which sounds like it would be pretty ineffective :O

NUKERS NUKE

Herein lies the possible fatal flaw in this idea. Nukers nuke mainly, so skipping the Cold AoE and buffs there might weaken the character. Also, Spear is high damage and seems to require less SP investment than Sword/Shield (?)

SP FARMING AVOIDANCE

2. At 90 Light, 90 Fire, 60 Sword, what gap can I keep the whole game to keep them maxed and avoid SP farming as much as possible? For example, I was told that you can keep two trees completely maxed if you have a 2 level gap (obviously max 2 levels behind). Is that sufficient?

SWORD SKILLS

3. Since most damage comes from nukes, what skills are highly beneficial for the nuker from the Sword tree? Can someone give me some specific skills that should be MAX?

I do not want to waste SP when I am predominately a nuke based damage dealer.

What I think would be a loss (even if you have a shield) is the heuksal passive. For every nuker, no matter what build imo this is a skill to get.

KD would be more important for a S/S nuker yes.

I think the cold buffs are overrated anyways, I’m using spear myself, and don’t use them at all..

Max the knockdown and stab, and maybe a heaven chain (to look cool, not that it’s sooo usefull for this build). And the passive offcourse. With these, and nukes, and lion shout, you’ll do fine. That’s all I ever see nukers use in PVE anyways.
