what can a pure str bow do in pVp?

im a lvl 42 pure str bow in sparta. b4, im a hybrid nuker SS. i've chnge bcoz many people say that bow sux in pvp. yea.. but i want to chnge that saying. we do all know that if you know how to use ur charcter right u can mnge evrthing.. here goes. i want someone xplain me the weakness and the advntage of a bow when it comes to PVP. and how can i solve that problem..

pure str bow...

no prob in tanking, no prob in damage but...it lack a skill that will give the bowman a chance to deliver damage while taking none like STUN and KD...

IMO, make use of phantom walk, ranger should fight in range or get 1 more weapon tree to defense from melee rush.

oki first you need to have a high crit bow id say 10+, people say Strong bow is bad in pvp but if you use it as the first hit it takes somes hp down more then they can pot quickerally, basically Strong bow, then Anti devil, 3/4 arrow combo, beserker arrow, then back to anti devil, if your getting stuned or knocked down alot jsut use phatom walk to back off a bit, basically with a bow you have to wait til you crit before they die, sometimes takes a while but whith all that hp isnt a bit problem. :wink:

For some reason, I see bows trying to tank glaivers and bladers by standing right next to them. That's giving them the advantage; that's not what we're made for. We're made to run away like little sissies and snipe! It's true, and be proud of it xD

At level 35 with an SOS bow, I one hit KO nukers with a simple level 1 Strong Bow and do decently well against other STR builds. I even killed a level 36 blader that had SOM weapon + shield o_O

But every time I stand next to a blader or glaiver, they own me. Bladers continuously knock me down and stab me to hell. Glaivers stun and use ghostspear, and their crits do huge damage.

The point is, when they begin to attack, you need to keep a distance and utilize your range advantage. Ghostwalk and use anti devil > arrow combo > berserker arrow (if needed). Once you get Anti Devil Steel, then use Anti Devil Steel > Anti Devil Wave. If both critical, use four arrow combo and berserker arrow. Then, your attacks should have done massive damage. If not, ghostwalk away and repeat forever until the other person dies or gets pissed off. ^_^ If they say, "COME BACK HERE YOU *****!!!11!" Then, you know you have achieved your goal.

If they run out of pills or are not immune to ice, Frost Nova can save your life. Use Frost Nova and ghostwalk away to shoot. If you're lucky, it can freeze them for around 3 - 5 seconds, which is more than enough time to deal a ton of damage. Even if they use pills, ice will still be hella annoying because freeze takes a second or two to pill off.

Nukers are a bit easier. Just attack them before they attack you, since most Pure STR builds can tank 4 - 5 nukes before dying. A crit from Anti Devil or Strong Bow + Arrow combo drops most people.

It's rare to fight another bowman, but the only thing you can do is tank it out. If you can shoot them, they can shoot you, so the stronger one will win. (I learned from watching some high levels PVPing in Hotan, it was pretty cool

)

The above poster pretty much said it all.

Frostnova, firewall, icewall, phantom-walk, high crit, ownage.

It's true as archers we don't have any stun or kd ability but I think range plus the fact that the walls work great for us since we don't really need to move to attack - these make up for it.

I'm yet to be beat by anyone within 3 levels of me. And I routinely kill lvl64 nukers at lvl57 (no not all of them, and yes they can kill me too but I play my char well so I usually survive).
This is with a 9-gap but awesome gear and a super friggin bow.

Anyone on RedSea want to pvp just hollar.

If you dont know what your doing, then every build you play will be weak, I think the reason not many people play bow is all the bad comment by players who have never played bow. I have played everybuild and bow and glavie are currently the best in my opinion, which is why i stuck the two together, Dual wield

Best of both worlds, Distance+the power of a glavie. Also for some reason I have a 7meter atack distance on my glavie....

the funnies pvp is a bow vs. another bow. just stand there shooting at each other across the field. look so funny. <-- i did that today with another bowman.

imo bows only have a fair chance against their own lvls after lvl32 (gets phantom walk), unless u are fighting a <30 pure int. gotta love pwning pure ints that don't have nukes yet

Bows do well against ANY pure int build. Strong bow = pwnage :O
(At least around the 3x levels)

Well i think protector is good choise agaisnt all mobs,and all builds,but with garment you will run faster and it looks cooler

I would suggest getting some int bonuses and put some points into int and get at 80:80 or more physical and magical balance, you will be VERY powerful.
