Where should I start...

Hmm, I want to go Glaive/Spear, no matter what, but I'm not sure which one to go.

I want to be a hybrid, lets say int will always be 10-15 points behind str, no more, although I'm not sure exactly how I should divy up the stat points , I figure my hp should always be anywhere from 50-200 points higher than mp, but I'm not sure how to factor in the weapon bonuses to hp etc, and I'm very very tired and can't think straight right now.

So anyhow, I want to be a hybrid, and by the time my leveling is said and done, I want to use ice and lightning magic. Here is my problem though.
I know Spear is = magic and Glaive = strength. But I dotn know which one I should use since I want to be a hybrid. I figure it like this, Glaive hits much harder, and ice/lightning magic are mostly buffs and debuffs, It seems pointless to buff my str more when its already so strong, and neglect magic dmg.

So I was wondering could I go with a spear to help my magic dmg, and use the buffs from lightning+ice to help my melee dmg, so I could have a respectable melee damage output even with the spear, or would I be better off sticking with the glaive?

Also would glaive/spear + lightning/ice hybrid be a crap build? I don't care about being a god in pvp, but I don't want to get owned all the time either, most of the time I'll probably be soloing, or duoing with a friend who wants to go bow/ ice/fire.

I'm pretty dead set on using lightning/ice magic, as I feel fire magic is boring from reading it, and I don't like fire as an element in general. But like I said, I have no idea whether I should go glaive or spear, any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure I'm missing something, as I've been up 24 hours and I can literally sense myself mentally slipping, but I think I got the gist of it down.

Ps. I plan to sp farm like a son of a gun, probably stop at 14 with a 9 lvl gap and farm like 30k sp if I can stand it.

from what I've heard... hybrids arent 10-15 less its usually applied in a ratio like, 1 STR; 2 INT.

You cant stay in the middle, you have to go larger on one side. The better hybrids are Nukers (2int:1str) and nuke with a spear to still have a high damage, and then use spear skills to finish people off

The spear cmastery tree has several multiple-hit skills, thus the high-magic damage + high-power imbue is very handy.

I personally made one of these on Venice and I have no regrets. It kills easy, levels fast and is much more powerful than characters of comparable level. So the pure intelligence nukes harder? So the pure strength tanks longer? So what?

Im happy with being able to take hits before dying, and still put out more than i take in. Its quite fun to drop monster 2-3+ levels ovr you in 3-4 hits justwith the imbue... and it maeks for a quality, streamlined leveling experience.
