I've been playing this game for about 3 days now and have a level 18 guy who uses a spear. I've been reading some things on this forum about what not to build on for skills etc, and i've made some mistakes there already. Each level i've been mostly adding to str with some int in the mix. Currently i am 83 str 42 int. I wasn't planning on making this character for pvp or anything, just making him high level and good enough so that he can progress through all of the areas accordingly. I also want him to beable to stand a chance when attacked by another player. Any advice you guys can give me would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul.

3 days and lvl 18? nice but you must be playing a fair bit :P

most people seem to go more int for pvp and use their huge mana to pwn the enemy with tons of magic spells. i suppose if you only want to stand against an enemy for escaping etc, str would be ok-you can tank it out with massive HP while running and guzzling HP pots

Yea as i've read on this forum that seems to appear in a lot of general question posts. Thanks for posting the two ways i could decide to go, but what about balancing it out? Wouldn't that enable me to deal nice magical blows to enemies and have fair hp? I don't really know how this game works in that sense but it seems that if i don't go one way i get caught in the middle which leaves me wondering if i am weaker then the other two.

Yes but the problem is in the beginning of hybrid stages you get flanked easily and its harder to act out the thief or hunter job in the later stages.

All of this comes down to what skills you choose and how you use them.
I for one am a hybrid, currently changing myself into an intelligence based person. I flank quite a few people for now and hopefully until the end.

im also a hybrid with slightly more int than str. now that ive got 1000 HP i think ill start moving more towards int than str, like you jester. i want to hit harder magical attacks than str attacks, since i dont think anyone in this game attacks without some magic lacing
