There's a lot of talk about ice blader where it is one of the best pvp builds but it's major con is its low damage, so why have not many ppl invested into ice glavies? Both builds can use chains, and the only differences I see are that bladers have a shield but glavies users do more damage. Being a pure str, you already have a ton of hp, so in a way, isn't having a shield sorta overkill. Any thoughts on this? pros/cons?

The damage is lower than Fire Glavie, and the speed of a Glavie isn't good enough to apply Frostbite fast enough.

Well, I'm not too worried about the comparison in damage between fire and ice, since fire obviously does more damage. But how much slower is the speed of the chain glavie than the chain blade?

It's not the speed of Chains, its the speed of the Glavie's attack. Heuksal gets its first chain at lvl 24, and it has a long cooldown. It's only 3 hits. The reason Ice Blade can do well is because they get their 4 and 5 chains at lvl 29.

so at the higher lvls...? Also, might be related to having higher lvl skills, I thought I read that glavie chains can be a continous flow.

hm 1st of all with 30% mag ballance your imbue dusnt add that much anyway's , the damage over time thing from fire is pretty cool , but its pilled away anyway's with auto pot

2nd the glaive chains ARE fast enuf to get the freeze/frostbite on a target
you just have to wait till you can get atleast 2 of the glaive chains
And the comination of Stun and freeze and frostbite , makes for a pretty good glaiver if you ask me

if you go ice, you will be the craziest tank.. hp bonus + physical defense bonus..

i've seen a bunch of glaivers go this way, fire for damage, then ice for defense.. screw running fast, thats what horses are for :P

I'm really not trying to be the tanker here. Actually, I would prefer faster movement over some of the ice defense bonuses. Just that I see a ton of complaints about ice blader being too weak, otherwise it would be the best pvp build, so I think, then what about an ice glavie?
