i firmly agree that ice glaive is much more effective than fire. the damage difference isn't that much since u are already pure str and thus imbues don't add that much damage.

i am lvl 53 fire/ice glaive my fire imbue is book2 lvl 6 and ice imbue is book2 lvl3. i leveled up my ice mastery when i noticed that using ice imbue is quite more effective in grinding eventhough it does a bit less of damage. i plan to get rid of fire imbues and just keep the buffs. ice imbue means i used less pots and my glaive dont get damaged as using fire imbue. ice imbue also made it possible for me to pawn devil yetis while i was only lvl 52 (not to mention that i am using 6th deg garment lvl 43-50 set). i grind at yetis now eventhough they are red mobs to me. ^_^

furthermore, i can beat any same level fire glaive out there, it wont be any pot war. less than 10 mins, fire glaive will die! my winning combo is usually nachal+ssttruth+prince+petal+ss, repeat and repeat. fire glaive usually gets frostbitten 75% of the time and his soulspear attacks were cancelled a few times. i strongly advise against using shura on PvP coz its a bit slow.

i also beat a lvl 53 ice blader when i was only lvl 51 using the same combo mentioned above . it took a long time, more than 15 mins coz he kept knocking me down! and i found a eureka discovery too. frozen status cancels out sstruth even if u ae already in mid-air jump! thats what made me decide to switch from fire to ice imbue...

ice imbue will be very very effective later at maxed level. i believe it will be the most PvP capable build as long as u maxed out all the passives.

Every lvl 52 Pure Str/Glavie can pwn Devil Yetis. I can do it too. And you use Ice more effectively than this guy. You use NACHAL for frost, and not Shura, which is IMO crap at applying frost.

EDIT: IMO, Ice Imbue instead of Fire is fine, as long as you use Fire Buffs, but against peeps with high enough frost resist, it won't even frostbite/freeze.

i beg to disagree. there is no such thing as 100% immunity to ice. even higher players will tell u that they really really dont want to pvp an ice blader coz their supposedly immunity to ice is just a myth.

i tried using anti-freeze jewelries, 4 of them = 66% anti-ice + fire shield lvl6 (-33) = 99% anti-ice defense ..... but i still get frostbitten by white-faced spiders so many times i quit that quest lol. maybe when joymax gets to correctly implement the ice-immunity rule then ice imbue will quit being the most annoying pvp skill.

and a lvl 52 fire glaive will have a tough time at devil yetis... i have it easy there... even if they ganged up on me coz frost nova saves d the day and ghost petal with ice is so convenient.

but of course, a 10-secs lag will kill me there ^_^

i killed a yeti giant at lv 48 or 49 :D

well, i came back, cos i posted very late, and forgot to mention some important things :)
now here they are:
i might be ice, but i have fire buffs. my opponent didnt had ice buffs. now as stated above, the fire imbue dont does *that* much more dmg if used by a pure str. and im only missing 4% phy dmg increace compared to a same lvl fire guy
my gear gives me 21 str, my ice buff&passive 36 phy def, wich gives me very nice dmg and nice protection agains a same lvl glaiver
i used vital spot muscle on him every 12 seconds wich made me do more dmg in average (all this parry and attack rate thingis are most afective agains near-same lvl people. i could vital muscle a lvl70 an do maybe 20 more dmg to him in average :D )
so i could have beaten him with some lucky crits, but ve stopped fighting after maybe a minute

i often see fire glaiver doing more dmg then me, this is not to debate. fire does more dmg. but what keeps me going are the occasional pms after i won a fight
"..... ice"
"dam you ice wh**e"
"you only beat be cos your an ice noob"
ect :D

lol if youre talking about fire glaive vs ice glaive, its a pot battle. tank vs tank. until pots run out no ones going to win.

if youre talking about dmg, so fire.

but how many ppl u see in jobs carrying like 400 pills, no one does because they will lack in pots, i'm ice glavie and i'm hunter, each time i fight a thief they try running off cz they run out of pills in like 2 mins cz freezing takes 2 pills to pill off and its so constant he's just constanly using pills and being slowed down, but fire, its just SSS and ghost and maybe dragon then hope for crits. Can anyone tell me if ice shud get both combos but only use one in PvP and which 1? thnx.

On Troy, I saw a Blader who was 100% immune to Frost Nova, I just can't remember his name. He ran around basicly yelling FREEZE ME!!! IM ANTIFREAZY!!!

ur only immune to frost nova wind because its not constant, u can pill it off easily, but if ice blade or ice glavie freeze u and constantly hitting using ice imbue, u wnt be able to pill it off even if u do have dat 100%, they wont make a game that has a useless mastery, in sum way all mastery have a gud point and bad point, like ice gud defence and slow down and freeze but weak and lack in mag defence but can freeze so it kinda cancles out, thunder lowr parry of opponent and average dmg but has splah dmg and lacks in defence, fire highest dmg and has alot of gud buffs for extra dmg for str builds, but lack in phy defence.

WTF do you mean, you can be immune to both. Chances are, if you are immune to Frostbite, you are immune to Freeze, since Freeze has a shorter duration

lol u still think u can be immune to cold, seriously, go fight sum1 using ice force. You really think joymax wud make the force cold wen its main feature is freezing and frostbite and u can sum how be immune to it, there will be no point of this force. That just shows how much experience u have in PvP

Dude, I don't think about it, I know; I used lvl 1 Frost Nova Wind on a guy BEFORE autopill was implemented and he didn't even get frostbitten.

well, lets say, there is a lvl of frostreduce wich will make someone immune to freezing
its not likely that his 15%+ frost reduce jewels will be even near his lvl
they will be most probably be many many lvls under that
so hes basically accepting to take a LOT more dmg then he would with high lvl jewels
in this case, this would be his downfall, not the ice :)

and if hes got some high lvl high frost reduce jewels, he deserves to be immune i think

Agreed, my point is however, that you CAN be unfreezable, not whether or not its smart to be unfreezable.

seriously wot lvl are you people? and how much PvP do u do? ders no way of being immune to freezing and frostbite, if u are frostbite whilst u got a skill in progress, you will move like ur frostbite untill that skill is finished, if u are froze with a skill in progress dat skill will be cancled and also if u not got a skill in progress, u will be froze and frostbiten for atleast 1 - 2 secs. having 100% freezing jewelry will just allow u to use smaller pills and also effect will drop faster that is all, its not dat u cnt be frozen and frostbiten.

You can't do it with freeze jewelry alone, you need Fire Shield at a decent level.

even if u have all dat, u will still get the abnormal status casted on u and because i will be always hitting the effect is almost constant so it will be very hard for u to be able to pill it off. having all that dnt mean the ice effect cant be casted on u, if they made the game like this y make the cold mastery.

Effect won't even be cast. You would Frost Nova, but no frostbite even though there's a 100% chance.

lol dat cnt be true, having 100% frostbite or freeze means, it will comnpletely remove the frostbite and freeze but still if u are frostbiten in a middle of a skill, dat skill will be slowed down until it is finish and if ur using say SSS dat skill will be cancled even if u do have 100% of freezing shit, dats the nature of cold, maybe the effect wnt be able to be casted on them which i dnt believe but then agen i nvr met anyone with 100% freeze, but the effect of slowing skills down and cancling skills cnt be removed. Even if the efect is immediately removed that skill will be slowed down even if the effect has worn off.
