what are the pros and cons of each armor and what skills should i use in both cases for each armor? are there differences? i heard light armor is good because of the cleric passives. what is your choice?

1. in case of heavy armor, which spells stay active after i switch from cleric rod to 2hand sword and/or which one stay casted on a party member even when they switch off by the casting warrior/cleric?

2. the same with light armor

Every passive in the Cleric-skills requires Cleric rod to be worn.
So the passives of Charity and Glory- and Favor armor won't work.

My opinion:

Either go Light Armor and make sure it's pimped to high hell OR

Get a heavy armor AND robe set and switch depending on who you're fighting.

I have all three and I find Robe the most useful, since the only people I can't fight decently in robes are really strong warriors.

Problem with use a different set based on who you are fighting is, well having to know who you're going to fight, only really an option at pvp at the gates, not an option wars or jobbing, and of course thats more money they may or may not have

Light armor you at least get passives while cleric mode, and which is basicly super tank mode

Robes will let you handle tank thru nukers all that painfull magic damage, now it wont' let you stand there and take it for long but it'll let you live a few more hits even if just one depending on how good they are, but the time of that extra nuke you lived may be more then enough to kill them and heal up.

General use and Party play - Light (Buff Bonuses and Charity, Glory, Favor Passive Bonuses)

Solo PvP - Robe (Faith Passive Bonuses, 20% Speed and Mana Cost Reduction)

Buy 2 sets, solves your problem. Heavy is undoubtedly more aesthetic though, but if you have avatars you only get to see it while caping or jobbing anyway.

+1

Either go LA, or Robe. Either is good option.

I personally go for robe, but its extremely hard to win against a good Rogue/Cleric or Warrior/Cleric in Robe. On the other hand, you could tank int-based chars like there is no tomorrow.

if you examine the favor armor passives against the faith passive the answer becomes very clear. int clerics need LA to tank. str clerics need robes to conserve mana and heal better.

not to mention that the warrior in LA only tanks an int build when he has his cleric rod and shield equipped, as soon as he changes to warrior the ints damage will quickly drain his hp. warriors are meant to tank, to me this means they should be able to survive longer than the rest of the party, which means they cannot afford to chance any imbalance in their defense. this is why they absorb damage for other party members. putting your warrior in heavy armor is of course the worst choice because it grants no passive abilities at all, and light armor still leave him vulnerable to wizards.

for me the only sensible choice is robes for a warrior/cleric.

I suggest takeing Heavy Armor / Light Armor untail 70 . at 70+ you must have a robe . and i reapit : MUST , too much megical atks so you probably need megical def >.> .
Untail then heavy armor seem to be awsome in my opinion cause ur able to tank . if you go paladin take it , pro ass tanker . same on 2h , it has great atk and it needs lot's of def . if u gonna be axes [not recommanded] then use light armor .
you got my opinon :D!

IMO, light armor is pretty useful for the passives. While robes gives u a high magical defence, it makes it a little harder to pvp str's. Light armor's defence is pretty balance and its cleric passive is way better than robe's passive. Heavy armor is a good choice if there a lot of str's on ur server, but it makes it harder against int's.

Again, for solo pvp robe is definitely better. Robe effect gives you 20% speed and 20% mana cost reduction while the consequent Faith passive gives your heals a a percentage boost along with other bonuses. So regardless if you're fighting an str or int, in 1v1 pvp, Warrior/Cleric would benefit more from robes. This, of course, is assuming he actually knows how to pvp with a warrior/cleric.

Now for all other stuff, can't go wrong with LA, just make 2 sets, dilemma solved :D
