Hello, I'm not exactly a no0B to sro, but in ways i am, since i've only just started to actually read stuff in these forums...I've just read about sp farming, character builds, etc. I have some questions that I would like to clear up!

atm i'm a lv 22 spear/glavie (i actually don't really know the diff between spear and a glavie, i always just picked up watever weapon!) user, and i've always been wondering why i'm so freakin weak! I never paid attention to the str and int stuff, so i've always been investing in str since it gives hp, but every so often i put in some int just to compensate. Now i have about 90 pts in str and about 60 in int, and my balance is 85/56% or sth like that. I use armor, but i use a spear (dammit!)

As for skills, I have invested only very little (i always forget to check the skills tree). I have invested in the lightning tree cuz i thought it was cool, and mastery of that is about lv 16? I also invested in my heuksal, obviously, and that's around lv 17 or so. As a mistake, one day i thought it'd be nice to have resurrection, so I dumped all my sp into force just to get the skill, and although i help others when i see them, it's useless since i'm dying all the time :banghead: now i'm saving up curst hearts to delevel the useless items in that tree like self heal (WTF? i used it like once!) That's about it for skills...no fire, no ice, no bow, no swords.

Since i'm mostly into STR, does that mean i'm a strength build, or a hybrid because i have INT too? Should I continue to put into STR and keep some sort of ratio? How will this affect my ability to deal damage and wat not?

When i kill mobs, i usually start off with imbuing lightning, and then hit till they're dead. On a chakji worker i deal around 200 damage with lightning imbued and about 80 without. Is that about right, or should someone at the same level/skills as me be stronger/weaker? How can i improve?

As for the skills, what are buffs, and should i invest in another tree, say fire? should i use a glavie or spear? glavie focuses on phy attack, where spear is mag attack, but what exactly is a mag attack? does imbuing your weapon with lightning make it a mag attack? but then again, who DOESN"T use imbue for their attacks?? since everyone uses at least one of the 3 elements (fire, ice, light), does that make everybody a mag attack person?

Anyway, i have said way too much, and i will post again if i have more questions. I hope i can learn from this! Thanks!

sounds to me like your more of a hybrid now...

Spear helps you do more magical damage, glaive does more physical. So seeing as how you have more str than int, I would just use glaive and stop putting points into int.

Go pure STR from now on or dont. Seeing as how its your first char, just have fun.

Get the fire skills tree. you dont have to delevel any of your lightning, but just make fire your main imbue.

haha, u just like me, deleveling the force, but im from lvl 23 force,
just delevel the forces, but it cost so much time and money.

i think its better u make new char, just like me because of the exp helper event i think its faster than u delevel , (if u delevel , u only get your 75% sp back that u spend on that force)

OR go hybrid, read the sticky,Put all ur points in str.

i think the damage for the chakji is normal.

use fire imbue,the best damage.
imbue is a MUST, every1 use that.
it means that when u hit the monster your damage is added by ur magical attack and plus the damage of the skill

u can add more damage by buying +1/+2 glavie

thanks for the replies!

Also, regarding armor and weapons, should i ditch the armor and go for protector and garment, or should i stick with it? wouldn't i die easier if i chose the other 2? how would having garment be better than having the protection i have with armor now?

As for item properties, i noticed that almost everything i'm wearing gives me and int boost! is that bad because i'm a str user? should i be looking for +str items from now on?

thanks!

you can keep using armor till you start attacking earth taoists. Then switch to garment and keep it that way.
