Hey all, Me and a few friends of mine want to play together in a party (all europes), One is Rogue/Cleric (xbow), the other one a Warrior/X, and then there's me.
First I thought Warlock/Cleric works pretty well in a party, but it turns out that I am only usefull for Dotting the party mobs and giants, and other than that I'm basically playing cleric!
If I put dots on normal mobs, it takes a while for them to die, while my Rogue mate can kill them in half the time! I kinda feel useless other than when we're fighting party monsters.
Now I think I am doing something wrong here, question is: Should I just keep the dots up on normal mobs and the party mob, letting the heavy hitters only take on the party mob? If I do that, I'll pull alot of aggro, so without bless I'm dead in no time. So are we just missing a good warrior to maintain aggro? Or should I just dot only 2 mobs or..
Would be great if you guys could give me some tips here, since im new to this whole party thing ánd the Warlock/Cleric build..
Thanks in advance.

Doing effective pt-play with just 3 people is quite hard. You should try to get some more people for it, especially some wizards to speed up the killing process. At least 1 bard and a full time cleric would be usefull too, maybe a 2nd warrior.
When the kill rate of the pt is faster you'll notice a bigger difference with the DoTs. If you put DoTs on a monster, the chance of getting zerk is higher for the whole pt. You probably don't really notice that in such a small pt with a rather low kill rate.
An effective pt setup with the people you already got would be to take 2 Warriors (1 additional one), 1 Rogue (as Lurer), 1 Cleric, 1 Bard, 2 Wizards, 1 Warlock (you).
Or you do cleric yourself, then you could take another wizard instead, which would result in the following setup: 2 Warriors, 1 Rogue, 1 Cleric (you), 1 Bard, 3 Wizards
Another option would be to replace 1 of the warriors with an additional int-character. This setup requires quite an experienced pt though, as the warrior buffs won't be enough for all ints. 1 Warrior, 1 Rogue, 1 Cleric, 2 Bards, 3 Wizards (2 Wizards + 1 Warlock)
You could use the Rogue/Cleric as tanking STR aggro cleric too. Then you could take 1 int more too. You should have a lurer for this setup though, either another Rogue or any Chinese build would be recommended for that. Some Warlocks can lure too, i personally don't really like to lure as warlock though, but you could still try it, if you want: 1 Warrior, 1 STR-Cleric, 2 Bards, 2 Wizards, 1 Warlock, 1 Lurer (either Rogue or can be Chinese too)
Anyway, the real advantages of a warlock in the pt will only show, if you get more people for pts. The setups i mentioned are just some suggestions. Of course, you can modify them a little bit too. If you can't find 8 people for the pt, i'd suggest you search for some wizards and do cleric. Then you can use the rogue as lurer and the warrior will just take over the lures and protect the ints in pt. Adding a bard would be usefull too, if you can find one. With 6 people you could do the following setup for example: 1 Warrior, 1 Rogue, 1 Cleric (you), 2 Wizards, 1 Bard

why not 1 warrior, 1 bard, 2 warlocks, 4 wizards? perma bless, debuffed/stunned/sleep-trap bugged monsters with stacked dot's permazerk little to no mp usage but since this is only an ideal party: Kronos wrote: An effective pt setup with the people you already got would be to take 2 Warriors (1 additional one), 1 Rogue (as Lurer), 1 Cleric, 1 Bard, 2 Wizards, 1 Warlock (you).

Don't ask how well it works, the glaiver is very good at seeing mobs and hitting them, but he can't save the wiz or me every time. Still, we kill a lot of mini-uniques in Jangan cave.

I'm the bard and run noise all the time. Doesn't always help if we're at mobs too high for my noise, though, we're constantly running around making sure mobs aren't getting too close. But as I said the glaive is very very good at seeing stuff around us, and the wiz keeps RD up, I keep an eye on everyone's HP and cast healing orbit, bless and integrity for status, so we rarely die. The glaive is 93, the wiz is 88 and I am 83, we all fight 92/94 mobs and kill the uniques when they spawn. What's funny is that fully buffed with devil spirit and int scrolls I do more dmg sometimes than the glaive

Besides the warrior probably can't lure enough to satisfy all of the wizards, there will be quite a lot breaks between the lures. A 2nd STR-character preferably warrior instead of 1 wizard would definitely be better.

Regarding that warlock aggro, I think that occurs because your dots hit so often that they have an increased chance of landing the last hit. Nearby unaggro monsters will become aggro and seek out whoever landed the last hit on a monster, which is very likely you.

And dont forget that with 2 bards, thats 2 tambours you have there. So if the mobs hit both mag and phy damage, you can have those 2 tambours up with 1 dance that will reduce a lot damage, and combined with the warrior/cleric buffs you can easily keep the 4 wiz alive. And 1 warrior with 100% speed should be enough for luring in an area with giants party.
