Archer undoubtably does more damage than a glavie, the only reason glavie is the most favorable build, is because it has both stun+knockback.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vimoxmK0 ... ed&search=

^Video of 2 lvl70's Bow vs Glavie, the bow is tanking the glavie for most of the fight, and whenever the bow gets some successive crits and gets the glaviers hp down to 25%, the glavie responds with a stun. This is evident at 3.33 in the video.

Joymax have made a few adjustments recently, if an archer was to cast fire wall, and its oppenent was to do ONLY psy damage, then the wall wouldnt block any of the damage, however it does not dissapear, only mag damage will make it dissapear.

.........long post.......You cannot be stunned, knockback, or knockdown while in a fire wall. And since bladers/glavies do mainly psy damage this is extremly helpful as with a maxed fire wall, you can take alot of hits from a pure str while not getting stunned ect, and the wall will not need to be recast very often. This allows a bow to get lots of hits in w/o getting stunned/knockback..making Bows who use this technique have an advantage over glaviers.

I wasnt going to share this info with anyone until i had my bow to lvl70..but i was sick at seeing 7/10 of players at dw southgate were pure str glavie.

Hope you survived reading this long post, and maybe some bowers can use this info and kick some Glavier ass.

Peace...

if u REALLy want to make a good archer u should either go play Euro sro, or wait until euro sro come to iSRO. In euro sro, crossbow skills has KD, Knock-back and a stab like skill. that is where bowman will own lol

Archers deal higher damage than glaviers. It has always been that way.

Glaviers just tanks better cuz they can make the enemey immobile.

Anti devil crit HURTS

Strong bow HURTS

Devil arrow HURTS A LOT

Fire wall does NOT prevent stun. I have tested this. It only prevents knock back, knock down, freeze.

A way better technique for pvping with an archer is to know how to use grasswalk, and what skills to use when pvping.

Heres what I do:
1.Grasswalk on mouse button hot key
2.Enter PVP- Start off with Anti devil book3(imbue of course before release)
3. THen book2
4. If both Anti-Devs crit, finish off with 4-arrow + 3 arrow combo, then they should be down.
5. If both do not crit, after book2 , triple click ( i repeat triple click) a location behind you, as far as your grasswalk can go, and press the mouse-hot key button. So it should go like this [click, click, click grasswalk...click, click, click grasswalk etc.] (Use this when stunned or knockbacked)
7. When you Ghostwalk back, hold down your anti-devil book3 hot key (mine is 1), and it should automatically target the other char.
6. After book3 is shot, do anti-devil book2 and repeat until you get double crit. When you get double crit, finish with 4-arrow combo + 3 arrow combo.

This technique is used to take advantage of an archers main plus, its range. Granted, while you Ghostwalk back to your location, you pot up any damage, yes the enemy does as well, but your crits can kill the speed of an auto-pot quick.

Book3 and Book2 is used because of the higher chance of crit on both sides. If both skills are used, you can almost guarantee that the 3rd shots will crit. The combo arrow is the finisher to kill the 1k or so helath they may have left. Fire is perfect as the burn damage will help speed the process up.

Strongbow takes to damn long. Would you rather crit with book3 & 2, then wait for your arrow to shoot-of for 5 seconds while your getting hit? nah

This technique is used for lvls 49+, if your lvl 69, replace anti-book3 with devil arrow in the steps, and replace anti-devil book2 with book3. Other lvls replace accordingly.

It pisses me off to see how many threads that archers suck blah blah blah, when they don't even know how to pvp right. They just stand there 2cm away from the other character getting kd, stunned, and knockbacked to death.

This technique owns glaivers,s/s ints and spears. Blader on the other hand, is just pot battle. I can't kill them, but they can't kill me.

Yeah, this tech works the best over all the other ones i tried. Casting icewall, fire wall etc. this cuts the cheese for archers

Im not sure on the validity of these speculations however i heard that joymax have changed the way that the ice immunity is calculated. Thus making it impossible to be 100% immune to frostbite and most importantly freezing. This combined with the NO STUN in Ice wall/Fire wall could possible be the rebirth of the ice archer  . I hope that this is true as im getting sick of fire glavies.

http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=22157

This is only a theory and i have only heard rumours about it. Plz can we get some solid evidence from a lvl70 with maxed Ice imbue :D

Ice and fire wall causes the archer to be immobile, though a maxed fire wall can kill the mag dmg from glaivers/bladers. Firewall does not block stun, though it could be a great tactic in job wars/guild wars.

Ice archers are great since not everyone is immune, though your theory may be true since Joymax is kinda tweaking the skills a bit. I currently have lvl 8 ice book, only to freeze the enemy, then switch to fire imbue to finish them off.

all i've seen is that the archer needed to refresh its hp permanently -.- and the glaive would've needed that only a few times. the other point is, that u do not know about their gears. under those circumstances, it's just ridiculous to make any speculations just because of a video. gears are so important, dude, i've often seen lvl 70 glaives losing a lvl 66 glaive and that lvl 70 char was perfectly skilled, but had only 8 degree +3 white gears and no str, int, hp or mp added.

if u really wanna know, what better, take npc gear and weapon and fight -.-

Yeah gears define if i can kill a glaiver or not.

If I regular anti-dev them for only 2k, then I wouldnt be able to kill them.

But if I regular shot them for 3-4k, then its a definite possibility that I could kill, and that they have crap gear =p.
