After making a few hybrids (because I had no idea about how the game worked) and then two pure STR characters, there was only one thing left to try, and that was the pure INT nuker. I didn't want to follow Biggie's recipe for perfection, though, so this is how I did it.
Pure INT - for magical damage and MP
Spear - for more magic power in attacks
Bow - for ranged attacks
Fire - for pure pain
Lightning - for the nuke (in the future), Must Piercing Force and of course Grass Walk
Cold (in the future) - for the Frost Wall series of physical protection
This is the way I was thinking. Being a pure INT, I'll never have enough HP to be great at PvP up close. So I want as many ranged attacks as possible, and not just the nukes. That's why I chose bow as well. Not as powerful as the spear, but if I max out the increased attack range, the increased attack rating and get the powerful bow skills and add an imbue, they
will hurt. So I can start off with a nuke at a distance, then go over to the hard-hitting bow skills, and if the monster/player survives that, I'll cast my Frost Wall for an extra 2500+ HP of damage absorbtion, giving me enough time for another nuke or a spear attack.
I know this will cost me lots and lots and lots of SP, but since killing is lightning fast with a nuker, I think I might be able to do some farming. I am lvl 17 now, with my highest mastery at lvl 15. I won't go over 15 until I get to lvl 21. After that I'll try to maintain the 5 level difference, if I can stand it, until I have at least 7,500 SP, which should be enough to last me a while.
I know I probably won't be able to stand it, but I'll farm for as long as I can possibly put up with it.
Five masteries will allow me to get lvl 60 in all of them. If I ever get above lvl 60 with this character (very unlikely), I'll probably remove the bow skills, unless the maximum masteries increases with the level cap increase.
So...any thoughts on this build?
EDIT: I knew there was something I had forgotten. I'm using garment right now, just because at these low levels the difference in protection really isn't big enough to make me consider moving 20% slower and giving up the 20% reduction in mana cost.
