Personally, I would have suggested fire, but that's just typical. If you want Cold, that's fine.

At any rate, you really should max out the grass walk series.

This is a guide to a pure phys glaive build that mainly uses the ice force. i(omfghax/m3atwad) have developed this build after playing 5 different characters. i'd like to point out that if you don't plan on joining a guild or doing much pvp, then don't bother reading this guide.

Focus: to neutralize your enemy using a slew of skills that inflict effects onto your opponents, making them useless in combat while an ally takes them out.

Stats: put every point into phys. the extra hp along with the glaive passive gives you an assload of hp, and helps you tank out damage (this plays into the focus)

Skills: heuksal mastery- max this out. i've never farmed on a single char, and never plan to. i run only 2 trees on my char, so quests and grinding gives me all the sp i'll ever need.

DO NOT take any of the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd books in heuksal. they suck!
Max out the Soul Departs series, chain spear attack series, and cheolsam force series. it's also very recommended to take at least one point into ghost spear and flying dragon.

ice mastery- i didn't really keep cold up to my level, just brought it up when i was about to get a new skill. i suggest keeping your cold skills at low levels, since they take a bit of mp (which you dont have much of).

definatly take cold force series (the imbue), cold wave attack series, frost nova series, and cold armor series (passive), and take the buff if you really think you need it

lightning - just level it up enough for lvl1 grasswalk. it's pretty useful.

@level 32, i recommend taking fire mastery. then you can get lv3 passive and flame body power, for a +8% phys damage increase. other than that, ignore all other masteries unless you plan on farming (things like teleport or revive or w/e)

Combat: as stated in the focus, you really want to center on your stun/freeze skills. my attack sequence went as follows: cold wave arrest -> frost nova -> chain spear + ice imbue -> soul spear. depending on your ice skill levels, this can give your opponent between 200 and 400 points of frostbite, and potentially around 150 points of freeze, not to mention 3 seconds of stun. trust me when i say your opponent will be about to cry. don't forget that you CANT use pills on stun.

once you have your enemy useless, its up to some teamwork to kill them. i almost always had a pure int archer with me (my friend from school) so he would nuke out some serious damage, while i would tank damage from the enemy and stun/freeze/frostbite them out the ass. i'm aware that some people might say: "o, well double team in pvp is lame" to you i say stfu. but, this build can still be used effectively on your own. use the same attack pattern to slow your enemy down, then pump out damage with repetetive use from ghost spear soul spear and chain spear. ghost and chain attack rather quickly, and soul does a LOT of damage if you get a critical.

when you really get this build going, people will definatly be worried about going pvp with you. no one wants to spend 500 pills on one person =P
i found this build to be especially effective in guild wars, because combining frost nova wind and the ice imbue + ghost spear, you can get some good AoE cold attacks going on.

i hope this build helps you out, and remember, you don't have to go fire for a glaive to be good!

Personally I went "ewww" at the sight of this thread, but if you want cold, i suggest you lvl up fire as well for the physical damage.. . you're free to use whatever imbue you please, but you Need the physical buff + passive as a glaiver.

Why does he need the physical buff passive, thats alot of sp for 1 buff.

And why does a glavier need the buff more than anyone else?

if someone wants to use cold as imbue, its gonna be glaivers, big wpn dmg to compensate the low imbue dmg of cold

if you want the buffs, get fire as secondary like that guide i posted said, hm i guess u didnt read it

How about the fact that you only have a 5% chance to do that, and having high ice immortality can null most of the ice effects? :)

What? It can't be achieved? I've already seen someone with 100% immunity. Icers would hit him, but he never got frostbite or frozen. He just took damage.

Doubt 100% immunity. But a high lvl fire shield like Fire Shield-Emperor or something. Plus a ton of Ice absorption accessories can gice u high immunity against Ice.

pills and pots. you can pot while frozen. so IF you get a stun you can freeze them too, but they'll pill right after they are un-stunned.

thats just my opinoin though, id suggest you watch some people fight who are using ice and everything. see how it works in game.

from my very first post, its basically pot war, you will have the advantage when their pot supply runs out

If it were not for ice immunity, regardless of pills, ice glaivers would be excellent builds. They are still excellent builds, but PvP only really gets interesting at higher lvls, where many people are immune. Ice can be great though as long as u remember to get fire buffs. You will do a little less dmg to ice immune people but you will be very good against non-immune people. :)

ive pvped some ice users and id say i used 50 of the cheapest pills in about 4 minutes. glaives dont hit as fast as blades. so your percentage chance to freeze is lowered. i think the build would work against a pure int spear user. not against a hybrid SS user or a str SS user.

the build works against nearly everything without ice immunity. Ice blades aren't good, unless as a str tanker, because they do next to no dmg and there used to be a bug about freezing someone on a KD (you couldn't stab them---dont know if they fixed that). Glaives need defense a lot of the time, so ice suits them well, with fire and lightning buffs of course.

I heard that they're gonna change the fire shield from duration to status unit?

Just something I heard, dunno if its true.
