I was thinking of re-making my first failure of a charcter, which was an attempt at a Fire/Blade cahracter, gone wrong... very wrong. BAsically i overspent on my masteries and didnt plan it out at all.

My cousin told me how to SP farm and i told him to go screw himself. His method of doing it is madness and involves purposely stying onesself at a 9 level ratio for the first 20 levels of a character's life. Reading a guide that is now lost in the depths of the pages has brought me to keener understanding of less mindnumbing SP farming. Here is what I've gathered. Critique if you will and please do, this is after all a public forum.

Maximize Strength at all times
Levels 1-9: No points spent on anything
Level 10: Raise Fire and Sword masteries to 5
Levels 11-13: Spend no points
Level 14: MAsteries at 6
Level 16: Masteries at 9
Level 18: Masteries at 12
Level 19-28: Masteries at 6 level gap
Level 29-30: Spend no points
Level 31-35/36: Masteries at 8 level gap
Level 36/37: Spend Points like maniac in fire and sword trees

The skills chosen to be mastered are as follows:
    Fire Tree:
  • Imbue
  • Physical Damage Passive Skill
  • Physical Damage Active Skill

    Sword Tree:
  • Initial Skill Series (Cant remember name)
  • Chain Series
  • Soul Series
  • Blocking Passive

Somewhere along the line I intend to place some points in the Resurrect.
Comments, concerns, critiques and corrections are respected and appreciated.

shrug do whatever works for you.. although the game is going to be boring for the first 38 levels for you i guess... in my case i farmed 8 k til lvl 22, then i farmed until 28, now im gonna farm until 40.. taking it cycles seems easiest to me.. your way seems to be... prolonging the agony :P

I would rather be done with the pain of SP farming right off the bat and not have to dig up the skeletons in my closet at a later level, but that's just me...

you're confusing me now. If you want to be done with it right off the bat then why don't you just do a 9 level difference from 16-20\21ish? Thats definitely more "right off the bat" your 38 level plan

how many other skills are you planning on getting besides the ones you listed? because if that's all you're looking for, there's NO reason you need to keep a 6-8 level gap for that long. for so few trees, you could probably get away with a very small gap, say 1-3, for good. some people have said that they could get by with 3 skill trees with no gap at all, so it's really up to you. but 6-8 levels for that long definitely sounds worse than a 9-level gap through level 20 to me.

Well, Ive also considered taking up ice or lightning as a possibility, simply because they have eccellent passives that cumulate with my defensive skills.

I may be able to do both in actuality, making the final buld resemble

Ice Tree: 40 Ranks of Mastery
  • Imbue Series
  • Passive %Defense series
  • Is there an Active %Defense skill???

Fire Tree: 100 Ranks of Mastery
  • Imbue Series 45 Ranks
  • Percent Physical Active Skill 45 Ranks
  • Percent Physical Passive Skill 10 Ranks

Lightning Tree: 40 ranks of Mastery
  • Percent Parry Passive
  • Percent Parry Active
  • Walk Series

Force Tree: <Enough for Resurrect> ranks of mastery
  • Resurrect (Only taking first skill here)

Sword Tree: 100 Ranks of Mastery
  • Slash Series 20 ranks
  • Chain Series 30 ranks
  • Soul Series / Bloom Series 20 ranks
  • Percent Blocking Passive 10 Ranks

Im not 100% sure if these numbers will work out, but I am hoping they will. If it requires less than 20 ranks of Force mastery for Resurect, you need to place the extra ranks evenly divided between Lightning and Ice. In preferance i am probably going to take the Bloom series, but if you had the choice which would you take?

Would that work better or should i choose either ice or lightning?

EDIT: Im beginning to lean more towards lightning for the greater % of blocking.

Not quite sure why/what you mean when you split up your skills within the masteries. By getting 100 ranks of the sword tree you can get as high of say the slash series as 100 ranks of bicheon mastery will get you, you don't divide it up those 100 ranks within the skills in that tree. This will give you the ability to select whatever skills you want within that tree.

I denoted the number of ranks total in each series because i thought you couldnt have more than 80 total levels of skills in any one mastery at any given time... but if you can then there's that much more reason for me to SP farm as long as I am.

BTW, in case you didn 't know, parry is not the same as block %. high parry means you get hit on the lower end of the random range. the only things that have anything to do with blocking are your shield and the bicheon passive skill.

also, why get the ice imbue if your main is fire? just curious.

also, you know that the first level of resurrect will only work on characters lvl 27 and under, right? i never understood why people would get just the first level of it.

About the Ice Imbue: SImply for status, as I intend to do some PvP with this character at some time in its life.

Is there a cap on mastery levels or what (i know the total can be no greater than 300, but are you able to expand a mastery BEYOND your character's level???

I was thinking of going just Ice/lightning Fire Blade Force, with force leveled up appropriately to be able to resurrect close to your level.

By final build maybe have Blade at 100, Fire at 100, Ice/lightning at ~60, Force with ~40.

This is driving me insane, can someone please help me with the actual mastery levels and skill choices instead of asking why I took a specific skil/mastery/element :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Sorry for double post, information does not go with the above stated and there is no real way to segue. The following build uses 42k skill points, and is pure strength.

    Fire Tree: 60 Mastery
  • Fire Force Series
    1. River Fire Force: 9 ranks
  • Flame Body Series
    1. Flame Body-Wisdom: 3 ranks
    2. Flame Body-Power: 3 ranks
    3. Flame Body-Extreme: 2 ranks
  • Flame Devil Force Series
    1. Flame Devil Force: 6 ranks

    Bicheon Tree: 60 Mastery
  • Smashing Series
    1. Strike 'n Smash: 9 Ranks
  • Chain Sword Attack Series
    1. Illusion Chain: 9 ranks
    2. Blood Chain: 9 ranks
    3. Billow Chain: 9 ranks
    4. Ascension Chain: 5 ranks
    5. Heaven Chain: 5 ranks
  • Shield Protection Series
    1. Shield Protection: 6 Ranks

Is that specific enough to get some comments :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

i don't know exactly what you're looking for, since most of the comments seem to have upset you so far.

anyways, i'd also take the knockdown/stab sets in blade if you plan on doing PvP. just a suggestion though.

Im not getting angered, slightly perterbed is more correct.

I am trying to see if I am making a mistake before the hours of hours of hours i spend farming the 20-30k SP i need for this build to work out.

It would just annoy the hell out of me to discover that i have a level 37-40 character with an inherently flawed build that im forced to simply delete because it cant work for crap.
