Pure Int Spear and SP farming

1. I am going to farm some SP at 16 and wondering how much is worth doing? I don't want to farm everything but how much roughly will keep me good until lvl 40 or so?

2. Is it really bad to get lightning imbue instead of fire? I did fire on another character and wanted a change, but not if it's way worse. Is cold/lightning imbue doable over fire? I will be using a 16+3 SOM Spear.

1. i think 100k will be fine, im not sure how long it will last but i think it can last until the late 60s depending on how many masteries you are getting

2. imo, fire is important, the fire nuke/imbue is stronger than light, but i guess going all light can save sp/mastery points, w/e its up to you

take both fire and light
fire nukes can be stronger but take long to cast
and.. if you dont have the light buffs your nukes wont
be as strong as the ones of other ppl. light is
simply the int tree. rest up to you

light is also good aoe so faster lvling

If you only want enough sp to last till 40, then 40k will probably be enough. Also tell me how it goes farming with your som spear and what your farming on.

Dude, till lvl 40, 10-15k max. sp would be more than enough.

He'll get regular sp by grinding and some by quests.

However...past 40 lvl, he'll need much much more...
