For example, if I have 100strength, 100int and a glavie with the following stats:

100~150 phys
50~100 mag

How much PHYSICAL damage would I do with a skill that does for example:
48~62 (250%) Physical

and how much MAGICAL damage would I do with a skill that does for example:
40~66 (100%)

To my knowledge nobody has really calculated the damage done by skills. But, I am not interested so I will try and calculate the magical damage done by my nukes.

There's a bunch of calculators and formulas that estimate the damage. But I don't think anyone's got it down 100% correct.

(phy damage from weapon + damage from weaponskill)* % from skill) =X
( mag damage from weapon + damage from imbue)* % from imbue )=Y

total damage Z = (X* phy ballance%) + (Y* mag ballance %)

and than there is a bunch of stuff going on with attack rating and parry , and finaly the damage gets modefied by obsorb ratio from jewelry
and any damage left is resisted by your mag and phy defence
and as far as i know 200 phy defence means 200 points less phy damage

but all this is after much speculation , joymax sad something about skill damage some time ago in one of their Q&a's that kinda got me thinking i may hav got it wrong , or thay rea;ly dono wat thay are trying to tell us

ill look around to see if i can find wat thay sad and post it here , so you can see wat im talking about

yeah found it in a very old Q&a

Q. In the Skill descriptions, you have the damage sections listed in this form ex:100-130 (150%). What do each of the numbers refer to?

A. The percentage (example being 150%) does not indicate extra damage, but is one of the factors considered when calculating damage and is a variable rate that users must pay attention to. Simply put, if the percentage is higher the rate of the skill may be slower but the damage will be higher. Conversely, when the percentage is lower, the rate may be faster but the damage is lower.

i think there trying to say a 200% skill wil hit slower than a 100% skill orsomething

yep, that's what they're saying. So the first part of your post is correct.

Though some other people say that parry and AR ratio is calculated after def. subtracts from the total dmg. I don't really know either. :?:

yeah but also note the part that joymax is saying :
does not indicate extra damage
if this is true , than that formula up there is like ..wrong . couse ive put it in as a edm ( enhanced damage mod) but than there is joymax saying its not a edm but a speed thing :? :? :? :? :?
so im like :? and going :banghead: and stuff

Well, I guess my post is sorta useless because the damage has already been calculated. LOL If that is all there is with attacking, then what does attacking rating do. Also, if you have an active skill that adds a # to your magical damage at what point is that added.

attack rating is put up vs the enemy's parry , the more the parry beats the attack rating the lower the inflicted damage will be

the more the attack rating beats parry the higher the inflicted damage will be

how effective AR is idono , its hard to test and joymax aint willing to be like blizz and post all the spec's openly on a socalled blizz fansite like the ereats summit orsomething ., nah the new wave of game dv's seem to enjoy watching ppl struggle trying to understand there newest creations .. witch totaly blows..

as for the % increase , i speculate it is just added to the skill % after the base damage calculations
( mag damage from weapon + damage from imbue)* (% from imbue + % from must piece series))=Y

but thats actualy kinda like a blind gues ..
