I dont understand the use of 2 different weapon dmg values. ie:
Phy. attack power 15~18
Mag. attack power 24-29
im not sure when (and where) each atk power would come into use (would it run off the physcical attk power if i had more points in stry allocated, and vice verca?. or does only use magic Attack Power when my weapon is charged up and urrenlty being used (by the 5 second buffs)
<--still newb, any help appreciated
thanks! =)

It uses both. Every time you attack something with your weapon, you do physical damage. If you use one of the imbue/charge skills from the fire, cold or lightning trees, you still do that same physical damage, plus you do additional magical damage. If you use a purely magical skill like the lightning tree's Tiger Shout, I think you do only magical damage, although I'm not 100% sure there.

so if my weapon is imbued (no matter which imbue i use) i do the second amount of damage, then my imbue does its own specific magical dmg (like on a lvl 3 thundertiger it says mag. attack power 18-33)...for a total of 3 different sources of damage? (wpn physical, wpn magical, imbues' magical)?

As far as I know, striking something with a weapon or arrow does raw physical damage, regardless of skills you may or may not be using. Weapon skills modify your base physical damage and in most cases multiply your total damage by a percentage. Elemental imbues activate and modify your weapon's magical damage. Elemental skills that do not involve striking the enemy with your weapon (spear/glavie throwing skill may or may not be included here), such as the lightning shouts, activate and modify your weapon's magical damage and may multiply your total damage by a percentage, but do not deal physical damage.
I could be completely wrong, though.
