You talk as if you own my @ss all the time, yet you know less about warlocks than I do?

It all depends on your primary build and what you really want. Theres no point to making a warlock subclass if you hate it. Warlocks are less useful as subclasses. Bard is the best for tankers like me who need the extra speed. Clerics are for those who seek to do goodwill (definitely not something you would do) to dead noobs/party members and res them.

warlocks can tank the same level of giant or even party mobs of their level if you know how to train them.

Well it depends on how you like to play. If you like to spam 123, then warlock is not for you. In my opinion warlock is the only build in Sro that requires strategy. Your next move all depends on what your status or curse does. If it resists you must do another thing. It's a really fun build to grind/pvp/job/war/fortress, so basically its awesome. My favorite build in Silkroad.

Warlocks = the turks of builds.

Meaning they're UNBELIEVABLY annoying.

This is pretty much how a pvp goes.

Warlock: Disease, Stun, Sleep, Division, Bleed, Bind, Impotent, Life Drain/Vampire Touch.

You: ... [dead]

If it's 1v1, it's pretty much warlock's win. But even if it's 2v1 against a warlock and he's a cleric sub, it'll still be warlock's win.

So yeah, warlocks are fkin pwnage.

I have a trolling 1H Warrior/Warlock build in Hercules. It's barely 20 but I love it. IMO, it's probably the most fun class out there, though not necessarily the strongest. During my PVP's in Herc, whenever a noob zerks, putting him/her to sleep is simply priceless.

Warlock is a tough build to play yet a very fun one, its also pretty much the only INT that can solo giants/party mobs without Cleric sub thanks to Vampire Touch and de-buffs. In PvP they are pretty much unbeatable unless they are REALLY unlucky. Usually a skilled Warlock casts Sleep at the beginning of a battle, if it does not work they cast Stun. If at least one of them works you're screwed >.>

I seen a lv 72 warlock take out a pt champ(73gaurd) so easily. He got hit once or twice and didn't run around in a circle.

warlocks = SUCK

all you have to do is put up a lvl 1 ice wall and they can't do anything at all.
im not even kidding, their attack base is cut down to like only 10% of their skills, and they can't leech hp or put u to sleep.

warlocks are a bowmans best friend, they can't even cancel ur strongbow or devil arrow with their stun, the arrow still launches buahaha.

i killed ladypain on babel while i was 68ish(72+7 lock rod) and repeatedly told him to delete that char cuz it was a sh*thole :P

No smart warlock would stand in range of of a bow user with ice wall up.

Hmm, thanks for all the advice and stuff everyone.
I made a warlock today, got to level 9. It's badass, lol. I'm too lazy to level it though.
MrFudge, thanks for saying that too, I'll be sure not to pvp a bowman.

Don't forget about Holy Spell, they cripple Warlocks.

@Pilot Vapore proved that subbing Warlock with Warrior as main is a good idea. Though I still prefer my Cleric sub. :P

I have a Level 30 1H/2H/warlock in Venus
1H/Warlock for PVP and 2H for grinding
I just can say, i farking love it. I could kill a lv 30 rogue when i was 26, if he didnt get to me first or critted me at least two times.
I might be trying later with first warlock and then 2H skills =D

you are indeed correct warlock are not meant for the southgate cape fights.
warlock is a build that perform better in group fights.
to be honest a warlock/cleric is your best friend in any group fights.
the true power of warlocks is at level 80 with their advanced reflect that skill is in my opinion the best group helping skill in sro.

watch for example this
http://www.stage6.com/user/garin00/vide ... 08-1/21PVP
warlocks are simply amazing group fights helpers.

Warlock start ownage at lvl 32, when he gets impotent.

Depends on kind of battle. If it is duel (1, 2, 3, go!), i dont think warlock will let you put that ice wall. If it is random pvp, warlock usually starts with appearing from illusion(surprise!), so you dont have a lot of chances to use that wall.

Warlocks cant cancel strong/devil arrow? 0.o It is easier than canceling soul spears...
In pvp with bowmans, just hope you wont get any critical before impotent go on, and it will be fine...

Rofl :D ,

I guess you arent warlock...
Ice wall resists you from all bad states, curses, debuffs, and everything that leaves mark under nick... and also makes impossible to drain hp from target.

But the fact is, is that no decent warlock would let their opponent GET an icewall up. As soon as they're in range, it's stun, sleep, bind, disease, impotent, bleed, division, kill, etc.

PvP - 1 vs 1 and group pvp matches, warlocks excell. They can handle multiple enemys, give a huge boost to party members with the debuffs and buffs ( scream mask and advanced reflect are great )
Soloing - really great, can tank at level 80 giants, party mobs, and party giants that are my level with no problems.
Partying - ...meh I mean, if theres not another wizard lying around.

They're cool.

i dont have that much ice, its like lvl 25 just for snow shield and lvl 1 ice wall.

and yea, its for cape pvp fights.
warlocks are terrible 1v1 against bowmen with ice wall up, of course that leaves the bowman immobilized but still with a decent firing range with dragonsoul arrow maxed.

its really only worth it if u want to piss off a warlock. In group pvp, theyre good..but then again every build is if u can just mob someone to death.. but warlocks are especially annoying.

i just see it as the fragile little int noob without autopot that relies on 80% probability skills to kill and stay alive. Definitely not my style, but it may suit others.

warrior warlock is cool though.

yes warlocks are awesome but i think you guys forget that there is an hp problem especially with full ints. About 30% of the moves from both chinese and euro characters can hit above or close to the hp limit. Unlike chinese chars warlocks cannot easily recover from a hit that drains 70% hp. After all there is casting time to consider. But i speak about the millions of fully skilled chinese players on babel >.< with gear.
