So surprised there isn't a topic on this here already... Anyways, feeling autistic? Want to create something in a half finished game but still have fun? Play then. Costs 10 Euro right now, will go up to 20 when it goes into beta.
Soon it might be available on steam, Notch (creator of the game) was recently in USA for something to do with that.
Multiplayer can be lots of fun, while there's no monsters in it (yet), having item spawning powers on it can be great for creating elaborate buildings. Single player is a survival mode, has monsters of a few kinds along with various difficulties (Going from peaceful - no mobs to Hard - plenty of mobs.) There are various map/inventory editors on the forums for minecraft that allow you to do/create pretty much whatever the hell you want.

I'm watching like 3 playthroughs of some pretty popular cod commentators. The game looks like real fun but I doubt that I'll play it much. I rather just see how they make insane buildings and shit.
Yup since these guys started doing playtroughs it's been like a snowball, they should seriously get paid for advertising lol they made the sales go up alot

I keep hearing about this game and Dwarf Fortress. But from your video I don't see how it's any fun... So you make tracks and ride them?
No you spawn in a randomly generated world. During the day you're safe outside to gather resources (wood/sand/dirt/food etc), when it gets dark monsters will start to spawn and you have to find a place to hide. With the recourses you can make tools like a pick axe and shovel etc, and ofcourse items like sticks/workbenches/ovens/storage chests/doors. When you have enough recourses you can look out for a mine and start to dig in it to find more precious ores/minerals etc like iron/coal/gold/diamond. With that you can make better items like idd those tracks and mine carts but you can make ALOT more with it. With all those gained recourses/items etc you can start making your own base, from scratch or you turn a mine into your base. You can even build in the sky. Look up some more vids and you'll see how much fun it can be.
When I get back I'll see if I can find a nice vid to show you.
I've been playing the free Classic version with friends. It's pretty awesome.
I remember me and my friends dug out an entire room under this person's entire base without him realizing it. It took us several hours, but it was so funny when he found out xD
Deleting peoples things and digging massive tunnels that went for miles ending with a giant room with a huge swastika on the wall only stayed fun for so long.

Nice job, most of my "building" has been mined, my homes have cave after cave after cave, most of it mined by me, some of it existing mines changed to something I can use. Soon I do want to create some kind of elaborate structure on the surface.
Edit: Some of my maps...
This one I've done some fun stuff on with haxed inventory... Such as creating big TNT scars. If you look closely, you might see my small building that's right next to one of the TNT scars, it has grass on top of it and trees as well, so it can be hard to see.
My snow map, I've done no building above ground, instead I've got a huge network of caves on it. This one is going to stay underground too. There's a large forest I've created, if you find that, you might be able to see one of my 3 entrances to the cave. The other 2 are hidden by overhanging mountains.

Check my post out again. I use cartographer so I can find stuff again. Nice little map maker on the official MC forums somewhere.
