You should really give the first one a try. I played it about 2 years ago and even though it was like 7~8 years old it still became one of my all time favourite games. The freedom they are giving you is similar to Hitman:blood money. They tell you what you have to achieve but how you do it is completly up to you. Whether you run in guns blazing, snipe everyone from the distance or try to be stealthy it's all up to what you want to do and everything works just fine to complete the mission.
^ not in the eu.. released 26th in eu... already got mine pre-ordered.. so just waiting
Here several stores have started selling already. I pre-ordered a special edition that's slightly delayed, but I haven't had time to finish Last Window yet, so it's not a problem.

For a game that advertised heavily on freedom of choice on how to tackle missions, they sure don't reward you evenly. 20 points if you get a headshot kill on an enemy, 80 or 100 or something like that if you get a silent takedown, then way more if you just manage to get by without being seen. Would hate to be the poor sap trying to get upgrades while playing a rambo style.

It's modern freedom of choice, you can choose between the different rails you wish to ride on. Deus Ex gives you 150% more rails than other games!
Just so people know, I'm a HUGE fan of the original Deus Ex. That game defined freedom of choice, the devs literally accounted for every single possible path you could take and designed levels so that you weren't farked just because you didn't feel like sinking 10 pts into shotguns or 5 pts into stealth. Every possible choice and path felt well designed and complete, you weren't missing out on anything just because you chose a different path, or at least you were too busy with the shit load of stuff you could do to miss the alternate choices. I'm probably wait for a few more reviews and some video of the early levels before I decide whether or not to buy this.
Id defs get it for pc. Keyboard and mouse are the best for games imo.
Yea I'm getting it for pc. Most of the time it's a matter of can my pc run it (or if it's a game my friends and I are getting, whether all of our computers can run it, but this is a singleplayer game).
This game is super awesome. I love the many different ways of going about a mission. You can do stealth, charging in guns blazing etc. and you won't fail unless you die. It really allows you to do what you want.
