You had to steal one in Oblivion for the thieves guild.

It gets explained what the Elder Scrolls are somewhere during the main quest.

The narrow and totally incomplete view on the scrolls: They are prophecies that concern a hero who saves the world.

Master requires an annoying approach. Combine alchemy, enchanting and smithing with the weapon and armorstyle of your choice and you can 1-2 shot enemies and survive as long as you're not letting yourself swarmed.

I'm sure there's a million and one ways to beat master, but it really takes away from the RPG elements when a random wolf on the side of the road 2 shots you and I can unload 50 arrows into a bear to get it down to half health. Also when one of the firsts quests ever asks for a mammoth tusk that's impossible to get without glitching AI. I mean if you think it's a challenge glitching AI and reinforcing that indeed you do know how to dodge a 2 hander attack over 20 times per enemy that's cool, not knocking it. Also, invisibility + 30x sneak damage dagger is pretty imba too.

Made a 2nd character. Melee is so much easier than a mage. Even in light armour, I take a lot less damage and dual wielding swords kills faster. I guess I'll turn up the difficulty to expert.

lulz, so did you guys know if you jump on the table in the companion's place and run around, you'll glitch through and fall into the fire pit kind of. It's a long far so you'll die.

sounds like you didn't up alteration. its basically necessary if you are any type of mage(except maybe sneak mage). it gives you like 40 armor with just the apprentice spell and there is a perk to multiply the def buff up to x3. at max you get 300 armor with the master spell.

So... is a mage really that much harder to play? I can't possibly know as I've only played mage so far. So yeah, don't know how easy it is for warriors/ what ever you want to call it.

Well I have an Orc shield/one-handed and archer, wearing heavy armor. Orcs have berserk rage power that increases damage by 100%, and reduced damage taken by 50%.

So pretty op if you ever get into a little trouble.

The expert spell gives 300 armour, the master spells gives a flat reduction of 80% to physical damage. But yes alteration buffs were always used, but until you're a master, armour works so much better and doesn't run on a short timer.

She should be hanging out in Dragonreach still, unless you bought the home in the city, then she should be there.

I go between them, third person for a better overall view, first person during actual combat.

3rd person for 95% of my time.

I only ever go into 1st person when killing people with a bow while sneaking. Apart from that, I prefer 3rd person. It allows a better overview of the combat because it's less limiting and swordplay is just not fun in 1st person. I can't stand the 2 floating swords.

In the past magic and archery were a pain in the ass for a 3rd person player but with the addition of the crosshair, aiming isn't so much harder anymore.

I play in first-person simply because it kinda feels nice - way more realistic.

However, another reason might be that I didn't even know there was a 3rd person view available (found out yesterday).

In some areas, if you use the shout that clears the weather, the lights go from great, to just absofuckinglutely beautiful.

High Rock, Hammerfell, Cyrodiil, and Morrowind landmasses are present in the game! Just for the 3D map, a future DLC or a reliance to the modding community? Either way, it's pretty awesome for them to add whole areas more than twice as large as Skyrim:

Anyone have tips for killing dragons for melee characters? I use a shiled and sword, and I came across my first random dragon earlier. It didnt land at all and I had to retry like 3 times because somehow I got bounty from the guards around me. I finally used the shout and first destruction spell to kill it, so now I made a bow for later dragons.. but obviously this isnt the most effective way.

Also, anyone know where I can get daedric hearts? Havnt gotten to the point where the quest allowed me to unlock the Shrine of Mehrunes Dragon and dont really know where else to get it.

Edit: Bought two hearts from Enthir.. expensive at 1k a piece though :|
Stole one infront of the captain at Jorrvasker and he took it away from me lol

You can't get dragons to land without ranged skills, I just chuck lightning at it.

As a melee, I've come to a point where I don't even bother a dragon if it won't land. I just continue doing what I was doing. I hope this laziness won't bite me back later on. I can already see myself having all 25 words and not a single dragon in sight.

How to land a dragon.
Spoiler!

Anyway I carry around a bow on my melee dude or let my companion shoot it down with her lightning.

If you're in an open area a dragon lands without having too hit it.

Infact i actually wait till they land before i shoot all my spells at them.
