How is it pointless...
If anything it could be argued that it's pointless not to create every character in hardcore.

Go do that HC bro, seems like all the srf peeps are going default league.
Default is pointless as it takes no skill what so ever, just throw your corpse at the enemy and hope you win. Rinse and repeat.

I don't understand the difference between HC and default :S from what I've heard: I'm allowed to die once. If I die I'm autoplaced into default. There is no difficulty difference?
So if I die, nothing about my gameplay actually changes...

So if I die, nothing about my gameplay actually changes... You basically loose all you currency in your stash which is a pretty big thing. And if you die in HC you make a new character because of it. So it's like diablo 3 but instead of not being able to play you character anymore you loose all your gold.

Maybe it's just me, but I almost never EVER buy anything in these games, I just save up and hog everything xD.

level 20 ranger, getting a hang of it, but probably farked up my build cause I didn't spec anything into any form of defense I'll make another char soon enough probably main complaint so far is the frequent crashes, and I crash whenever I try to enter Dark Forest, which is a bummer cause I have a quest there. on europe, IGN - anxious_mofo

i don't understand how playing hardcore is not pointless at this stage. you can literally die in an instant from a lag spike that appear occasionally and are not in any way on your part. and what does that leave you with? a real lot of time wasted. how are you not enraaaaaged olen?

I don't see how it much of an issue, there are certain things you might want to avoid if you're playing HC but overall crashes and lag won't kill you if you know what you're doing.

I just started playing this, really fun so far. I am playing default at the moment as i am trying to get a hold of the game and such but plan to roll a hc char at some point assuming different races don't come out first.

got kinda frustrated with my marauder cause I'm still using a lvl 8 blunt at lvl 28 as I can't find a better one. it deals some really pathetic damage. also it's like the second time I get up to the pyramid and the motherfucker just crashes. and compared to my ranger, it takes a while to get to the pyramid all over (as interesting as the area is, with all the totems and everything it gets really tiresome). guess I'll take a pause of about a month till my interest in the game comes back and I deal with my exams lol. still the dopest game I've played in a while, yo. wish more people here played it.

Nice!
The races seem pretty exciting too, I'll participate in the second one since the first has already begun.

Keep getting the most horrible luck in the races, lvl 14 both times. Only using white weapons for an hour is not fun.

When I see you on my friends list Ol3n on your Templar the sign shows you as being in the default league. Perhaps it's a bug? I'll S/S it next time your online. Currently playing Hardcore and I understand just how pointless softcore is now. Knowing that I can never die adds in so much risk/reward, I have to try and optimize my killing speed while maintaining maximum safety. It also affects the way I build, too. I've made my build from scratch with a complete emphasis on health and defensive options, I barely pick up any damage nodes at all (a dozen crit nodes and a few projectile nodes, that's it). One simple mechanic adds so much value to the game play. I don't think I'd ever play softcore again, I really just don't see a point to it unless your learning the game (like I was prior) Lvl 30 in HC atm, I don't get much time to play as University is about to start not to mention I have internet issues on campus. Still, I'm really enjoying the game none the less

Yes, its a bug I belive.
Once you go HC you never go back. Love the feeling when you're at 20% health with mobs all over.

Still learning how to play the game at an effective rate, got knocked out of the 3h solo race at only lvl 14 as duelist, excited for the next one

Yup, Hardcore is a whole new experience.
Right now I'm levelling both a EK Shadow and a Bow Duelist focusing on Blood Magic and being tanky while dealing physical damage.

Lvl 42 Ranger, HC, I had just collected a whole heap of good gear and was starting to feel like I cwas progressing really well. Got swarmed by 6 of those purple humanoid monsters that explode > didn't run out of their range quickly enough > died
