It has a few scary moments :)

Anyway, usually I'm not really patient enough to follow a game's story.
But this time, I'm just so extremely curious and I talk to every NPC I run into :D
The story behind this game is Farking amazing, it's unreal, I can tell you.
The computers scattered ALL over the place hold key pieces of information, it's really amazing what you can find just by being really into the game :)

I'm not all that far in the game, I'm just about half way, or almost, but I can safely say that this game is SUPERB.

Only one thing I was rather disappointed with, which is how you meet your father after he left from vault 101 for the firs time. All that talk building up against meeting him again, and then he's like "hi, time to -->" basically. And what happens at Project Purity after that is just so boring, after all this building up as i see it, towards meeting him again. All these stories, questions, answers, and information that you find in your way to that milestone in the game, and then it's like oh hi dad, hey son, gotta move on.

Games decent. . .
it's glitched a couple of times and gets boring pretty after a couple hours of game play but other than that everything about it is flawless :)

The game is overrated. It's a bit too open. I didn't feel connected to the story so I got bored.

Started back playing. It's a great game so I think I should finish it.

Anyway, didn't really like the attitude of most people in Tenpenny Tower and I liked what Tenpeny was wearing...

I didn't save it because I felt very alone after making that decision. I'll probably go exterminate the zombies or whatever the guy wanted me to do instead.

Saw it yesterday at my friends house...I must say it looks very nice. That fatman gun is just  And the 'quest' where you blow up Megaton looks nice too xD

On the other hand. It looks ALOT like Oblivion (yeah same developers, I know but I didn't think that it would be this similar) and I never really liked that game too.

I really liked what I saw from Fallout 3, and I have a really big thing for the Do-Whatever-You-Feel-Like-Doing-Whenever-You-Feel-Like-Doing-It-element. Only thing that prevents me from buying it is the shooter element. I'm not really good at shooters and I'm not too fond of them either.

I saw the V.A.T.S yesterday and that's easy...you can 'pauze' the game, lock on to his head and then shoot and repeat. Biggest part is still the free-roaming/stuff searching shit :) (I can be wrong tho, haven't seen that much of it haha)

Can always just use the VATS system. But if you really refuse to manually aim, you will have to run around a little bit for you 'equivalent of MP' to regenerate.

Sounds like an option for me yeah. The biggest aspect in the game is the roaming/questing, right? I don't really feel like shooting my way nonstop through a game.

Hmm... I would say so yes... but on your way to places shooting is very common. I really don't think the shooting should be an issue though.

I actually finished the game today. I thought I had ages to go yet, as I still had loads of quests, so I've gone back now to do the quests and once those are all finished I'll go to the final quest again.

How long did it took you? And the RPG system, is that complicated?

What makes this game fun? TBH it looks extremely boring to me, dead towns, a few zombies here and there. That special shooting thing has the same camera angle, and everything else. The only thing different is the gun and the bullets. =\ Somebody prove me wrong

If I wanted to make myself shit in my pants, I would just get Dead Space =\

You can do what you want and the game is huge filled with many sidequests. Thats the main reasons the game is fun for most people.

Spoiler!

A few perks you can choose from when you level(Or I think it's every few levels).

Bloody Mess - With the Bloody Mess perk, characters and creatures you kill will often explode into a red, gut-ridden, eyeball-strewn paste. Fun! Oh, and you'll do 5% extra damage with all weapons.
Cannibal - With the Cannibal perk, when you're in Sneak mode, you gain the option to eat a corpse to regain Health. But every time you feed, you lose Karma, and if the act is witnessed, it is considered a crime against nature.
Mister Sandman - With the Mister Sandman perk, when you're in Sneak mode, you gain the option to silently kill any human or ghoul while they're sleeping. And, all Mister Sandman kills earn bonus XP.
Scrounger - With the Scrounger perk, you'll find considerably more ammunition in containers than you normally would.

Towns aren't dead. The towns and townspeople seem more alive than most other RPGs.

Great Mods.

The G.E.C.K. provides the community with tools that will allow players to expand the game any way they wish. Users can create, modify, and edit any data for use with Fallout 3, from building landscapes, towns, and locations to writing dialogue, creating characters, weapons, creatures, and more.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/categories.php
http://fallout.bethsoft.com/eng/home/ho ... cijPF7c92o

The angle isn't always the same.

Only thing different is the gun and the bullets? You can say that about pretty much any FPS out there, not that Fallout 3 is an FPS or anything. Also, you don't have to use guns all the time. There are melee weapons.

It's not a horror game.

Code: Select all

The do what you want and all that other stuff is just seen as a bonus to me. I got bored before because I didn't feel motivated by the main story to continue the game. The main story isn't that great compared to all the sidequest and other content in the game( I am early in the game so maybe there is something that happens and the main story better.). However, it is a great RPG and anyone who is a fan of the genre would most likely enjoy it.

Well that video certainly proved me wrong about the angles, the videos they showed at E3 make me think otherwise

I'm having a lot of fun in the G.E.C.K!
I love making lead pipes that fire 200 auto-killing baseballs in a shotgun like spread every second.
I'm working on making my own vault now =0.

I decided to take a short break :/

Was gonna play some the other day with my cousin to show him FO3, and I noticed that my saved file was gone :( :( How, I have NO idea... But I lost a ton of story exploration and I really can't be bothered starting over as of right now. I'll probably do it in a while when i have one of those "hey lets pull out FO3 :)"-moments.

You don't have to use VATS. For me i only use it to find the enemies (not a great graphics card) and then after i find them i just play it like a normal shooter. It is a GREAT game. I've been playing for weeks and have most of the named weapons and the special armors but there is still months worth of gameplay i havent even touched on yet. If you really want to be able to move around and do the quests make sure you get the explorer perk, it helps a lot. Sadly i got to the point where i have over 10k ingame and have almost 300 stimpacks and lots and lots of ammo (7k+ of 5.56) so i basically can do whatever i want without worrying about dying and kill anyone without losing a significant amount of karma, kinda ruins some of the fun. still a great game though.

For most of the game the only scary thing is when you turn a corner and theres an enemy there.

FYI - Fawkes kicks ass. He can carry a lot and his gatling laser = total annihilation

You have to be connected to live for your game saves to work. Unless of course your running a non legit version?

Are you serious?

I have the legit version, but i thought the live thing was just a load of crap just for xbox :o
I've loaded my game tons of times without it though, wth?
Or wait maybe it's because i set up the live thing during my last save :/

But, now i'm hating myself even more because i created a new game to show my cousin -______-

Damnit. Some time I'll start over, but not for at least another month, going through the story was great but it's way too much time to do it again.

Dont really need it to save your game, i can save it without. But when i made my account for GTAIV, and then played Fallout 3, it logged in with that profile and it showed me having no save games, then logged out of live, and my previous games showed up. So guess you can either use Live to save or save normally..

I did exactly that actually, i remember now.
I had to make the account for GTAIV and when i went back on fallout it logged me in.

Damnit :( Now i saved over it.

Yeah you can create an 'offline' account. But generally peoples instincts are to use their hotmail/whatever Live passport accounts.

I didn't see the ability to make an offline account until half way through the game, couldn't be arsed to try and transfer it, so just carried on using the online one. Besides it gives me gamer points :P I still don't have very much. But I only have 2 live games.

Just played it for 3 hours and don't like it. Too big, too much text, etc. Guess I just crave horror/guns a-blazin' stuff. Rather bummed in general about it, looked cool. Maybe I'll try to play it more.

Also, I don't care if I necro-d a topic.
