I've decided to make a picture guide on basically the toughest and last boss of the first dungeon, he's the first boss that can actually make you die many times and take effort to kill. He is at the end of the decisive battle mission that you take from the merc outpost. At the end you'll come to a large open area and a bunch of gnolls will spawn, take them out and you will face:
The Gnoll Chieftain:
Spoiler!
Spoiler!
So, this can be a pretty tough fight, the first thing you'll notice is that he has 3 hp bars, meaning when you take one out, he has two more full hp bars. Fun. I recommend taking some healing potions to keep you alive. Remember, if you stand still to drink the potion it heals for more at the cost of a 2/3 second wait time. Time this carefully, and if you simply can't afford to stay still for that long then drink em on the run. Note: I'm in full crimson merc gear in these pics. Once you take out the adds and engage the chieftain, a group of more adds will spawn. Don't worry about these, the chieftain will kill them if you are agile. There are 3 moves that the chieftain can do, the first is an overhead hammer smash. If you see him bring his hammer below his waist and IF HE DOESN'T LIFT HIS LEFT FOOT(very important to look for this): He will bring his hammer above his head and smash it down in front of him. You want to dash to the side just as he's raising his hammer to avoid the move. After the attack, move in for a quick combo (I usually manage to get off a 3 hit + smash on lann) and get the hell out again. If you get hit, you take roughly 400 damage on easy difficulty without the difficulty increasing oath and get a debuff to your strength for 30 seconds.(looks like blue fire)
His next move is what you really watch out for. If you see him lower his hammer, but he DOES LIFT HIS LEFT FOOT: then he's about to spin, and you need to get the f*ck away from him ASAP. If you get hit by this move, on the easiest difficulty, it will hit for about 600 damage. Anything more than the easiest difficulty and it will do 900+. Not to mention it will rape your armor: Yes, you can see the damage to broken armor. One you finishes his spin, you can move in for a quick combo but I would NOT risk it. You would have to get the distance just perfect to get close enough after the spin to get a decent hit off, I just stay away until he starts his overhead smash.
Finally, if you're in close range, he will use a fairly quick, short range, low damage kick move with his left foot: This is easy to dodge, if you end up in front of him after a combo, just dodge to the left and you'll avoid it. You can dodge to the right if you are further toward that side, but his kick goes in that direction, so I recommend going left. If he hits you, you will take about 200 damage and he will happily spam it as long as you're in range. So side step as soon as you can.
Every now and again he gets tired and has to rest: This is when you move in with a big, heavy hitting combo. With lann, I can get a 5 or 6 stab thousand needles + smash when he goes down. I don't recommend staying for too long though, he's quick to recover. The lower his HP gets, the more often he rests. If you get him to 1 bar of health, you've pretty much won, as he rests just about every other attack.
Keep alert , and soon you'll be awarded with: Note: that title is for killing him twice, you can farm him as much as you want.
Titles not enough for you? Do not fret! He drops parts for his armor, and his weapon sometimes. This was a lucky run, I got both important pieces, and I got the piece for the weapon on my first go.
If you take these mats + some other raw mats to Ferghus in the smith, you can make a very powerful weapon, and armor that has a great set bonus of about 200 more HP once you get the full 5 piece set.
Here's what the dual sword + the boots look like, the set is called crimson rage. Those are the only 2 parts I have right now, and I will post the full set once I farm it.
Hope you all enjoyed the guide, I'll make em for more difficult bosses if I get to em and people like this. I'll also take requests given that I know what you're talking about.

soloing that boss takes soooooo long, it's got 5x hp bar. much easier if you are in a party and you know how to use the chain to grab him.
tip on chain: aim for his legs at short to medium range, anywhere else would not bring him down.
the issue i have so far is that i think dungeon parties are done by p2p as opposed to on nexon's dedicated server, so a lot of times you will get lags when you are in a party.

Add me, Player1. I'll do some runs with you and give you my left over mats for the crimson rage armor set.
Sweet, I only have the Crimson Rage Gloves from so really cool dude. I'm kinda stuck because I have the "Revenge" story but I can't start it because I only have 75 points in "Decisive Battle" when you need 80pts. I did it like 4 times and I'm still stuck at 75

Hate how they keep doing maintenance but I guess that'll fix the game up real fast. Such a fun change from how SRO was. Tired of constantly killing the same mob? Kill em with crap lying around! Grab their neck and smash them to the wall, or throw them at their friends.
Wish people hosting dungeons wouldn't lag so badly though.
