Oh, well..in this case..the hell I'm giving away my account.

I was lucky enough to remember my pw at the second try and I'm installing it now. Think it'll take a while because I'm extracting a 2gb file from winRAR.

Well..just for the period of the beta, I won't mind playing, as long as it is not p2p (can't afford to pay for it monthly).

It will be Pay2Play, but the betas are free.

This better not be Aion 2.0

So i played through, the RPG element seems about halfway different, but fun none the less. I really enjoy the WASD walking. The jumping is as well useful. I find the introduction cheesy, but better than how a lot of MMORPGS start out. It's getting there, hopefully the final release will fix a lot <3 :yay: :yay: :yay: 8/10 for a beta, overall 9/10 for a mmorpg

It's nothing like Aion, afaik the rifts in Aion is so you can get to the opposite factions zones or something like that? I never got high level enough to try them out myself, the rifts here spawns monsters and if you dont kill them sooner or later they start killing quest hubs and taking over areas. They also said that in further expansions they may would allows us to go into the rifts and attack the planes before they break into our world. Some state that it will be possible at release but I doubt it.

I'm currently on this beta just to see how it is. It is pretty much exactly like WoW.

How far have you gotten? Please dont say level 3, you must know better than that. :soosad: General chat was full of those yesterday. "Oh this game is like Warhammer, it sucks" Shift-Left click Level 3 Cleric, wtfbbq. The game starts to shine after level 20 when you enter Gloamwood/Stonefield where the rifts actually become more of a grup play thing and when you start to evolve deeper in the talent trees.

Trion never intended to reinvent the wheel, most of the developers are veterans that have worked with UO, EQ 1&2, Warhammer and even WoW and you cant really say that they are taking everything from WoW since WoW is a straight out copy of other older MMO's. Why fix something that aint broken?

The stupidiest thing Trion have done is to hand out vip keys to curse, where many of the WoW fanbois hang out, now they are in Rift trolling and flaming. So annoying.

Level 11 actually. Maybe 12. I forgot.

Funny you mention the Curse keys, because that's where I got mine.

Dont get it the wrong way, but the pre-beta to beta 3 community was awesome, everyone friendly, now it pops out 1 troll thread each 5 minutes that the mods have to lock.

OK, so this game is pretty fun. Leveling 1 to 7 was kinda boring, very similar to Aion's intro. Once I got to Freemarch, I did nothing but hunt for rifts, lol.

The discussions in game are pretty good though from what I've seen.

A lot are comparing the differences between WoW and Rift. Then there are the people who are bad at WoW who think Rift will replace WoW, to which I slap them down on the spot.

The fun thing is that Trion never intend to beat WoW, they said that it will be another choice. But there is always those who are fanboys. Rift will not beat WoW I agree with you there however if they keep it up as they do now it will go close hand in hand with WoW.

I've never seen bugs get fixed as fast, sometimes I wonder if the devs get any sleep. :|

If anything, Rift will just outlast WoW. It's comparable and it's coming out in WoW's what...6th year? Rift will continue long after WoW just stops getting expansions and stuff.

I hope WoW doesn't stop that soon :( I'd like to be there when a new expansion comes out.

And I tried a little bit of Rift yesterday, didn't get to a very high level but I like the concept of the souls and whatnot. I won't be playing it tho.

I decided today that I will preorder this. Is it going to be a monthly fee?

Ah here's the dilemma then. $30 a month on games seems pretty ridiculous. $15 for WoW and Rift. Hmmm.

I'm going to most likely choose Rift. Depends on how my guild is doing progression wise in WoW when Rift comes out in March.

Let me know what server you end up on so I can join you.

I hope this is Genuinely good and not just over hyped like Aion. I tried that game and I felt like I could have spent my time better by watching re runs of crap tv.

If anything the game is underhyped, never seen a single advertise of it, the only advertise it seems to have is talk from the players.

Open Beta the 15th, and if you go to direct2drive.com, and choose the NA region and buy from there you pay in dollars + 20% discount, it seems to been a bug at rifts homepage that us from Europe payed in Dollar so I got my digital CE for 390 SEK, which is quite good but a guildmate of mine had to pay in euro yesterday so it seems like it's fixed.

I got into the last two closed betas and despite the glaring similarities to WoW, it feels like a breath of fresh air. I've never really gotten past level 10 (dozens of rerolls thanks to the Soul Attunement system) but from what I've seen, this game is well done.

I'll still hold off on the pre-order. Hopefully, I'll see more content on the 15th.
