Playing co-op mercenaries is so much fun when you have a partner that knows how to play the game and can read you're method of attack and act accordingly. But sadly, most people I joined with or who joined with me are overall pretty clueless. :(

Some things which irritate me.

* People who don't use melee attacks on stunned enemies.
* People who don't seek out time bonuses/combo bonuses on their own.
* People who quit in the middle of a game or story co-op. I can't stand them.
* People who stand aimlessly in the middle of PA with dozens of Majinji around.
* People who get caught all the damn time.
* People who try to knife the Executioners or the Chainsaw maniacs. >.>
* People who, even after multiple matches in order to get the symmetry up, still can't read you're movements.
* People who don't share ammo or items.
* People thinking co-op means single player..

Oh you're gonna love what I got to say, then.

Apparently, the DLC is scheduled for tomorrow.
I don't know if it's true. But there are a whole lot of people saying it is.

Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

Don't be silly, you know I'll love anything you say.

Heh, yeah, that sounds good to me, can't wait for it to show up to be honest. We'll see when we get a shot at the new achievements and trophy's. So let's hope for far more DLC in the future. And even if it's off by a few weeks then it doesn't really matter, since we now know that somethings on it's way.

If Team Survivors is like Resident Evil: Outbreak (which I so hope), there is a chance we'd get to play different RE5 characters, as I doubt they'll invent complete new characters just for the DLC. I'd miss Jim Chapman though cuz it was so totally awesome how he could play dead and rarely be attacked.

Yeah, I remember Jim Chapman. I still find it funny how 1 out of the 2 playable black guys in the game had the opportunity to play dead, while the other has more physical strength. :P

To bad Jim's viral infection rate would skyrocket when you played possum for to long though.. As for me, I'd always preferred to play as Alyssa because lock picking is awesome and she seemed to be much faster on her feet then the rest. That's one of the reasons why I picked her out of the crowd of characters. But I'll admit that Jim got me out of some dangerous situations though. Situations which I wouldn't have survived if I'd be playing as Alyssa.

Yup, it's really out. Anyone tried it yet?
I haven't had the time to dl it yet, but I'm dying to know if Team Survivors is like Resident Evil: Outbreak. Anyone know?

EDIT: It's not like Outbreak. TS is just a 'My team kills moar majini than yours, we win!'
No splitscreen either. Maybe some other time. Where's my neglected PoP DLC?

Yeah, DLC sucks this time.

Anyway. I'm trying to get a feeling for the timing for the tag team moves. Does anyone else practice these arts of butt kicking or do you all just blast everything in sight?
Example:

Code: Select all

Mercenaries - Duo - 414k score.

Code: Select all

Oh, and Battle suit jill. =3 I shall master her skills.

I know I shouldn't have expected too much for 400 points, but I kind of did. I liked the teamplay so much in the game, why didn't they stick to the same concept in the DLC?
An Outbreak mode would have been awesome.

The pingpong stuff is tricky, tried it with a friend but each time one of us would kick/punch him in the wrong direction. We were in an open area so there was plenty of room for errors.

Code: Select all
Jill seems pretty awesome from what I've seen. My friend unlocked several characters, but he only plays as her lol.
At both Mercenaries and Versus I unlocked Wesker right away, so each time it's always Wesker and Jill, and he's like "I think think the odds are fair.. Two on too many others."

  • Zebraman Chris - 8,000 points
  • S.T.A.R.S. Chris - 13,000 points
  • Blonde Short Hair Sheva - 6,000 points
  • Skimpy Outfit Bow Girl Sheva - 15,000 points
  • BSAA Jill - 5,000 points
  • Battle Suit Jill - 7,000 points
  • Midnight Wesker - 30,000 points
  • S.T.A.R.S. Wesker - 50,000 points

I hope we'll get more DLC in the future. A similar feature as Separate Ways, maybe as Wesker or Jill, to find out what happened after the Spencer Incident or [insert name here]'s report, or a mode similar to Outbreak, but then of course a bit simplified since Outbreak was a complete game. I wouldn't mind at all if they just recycled the characters from RE5 rather then coming up with complete new ones. What else?

Is this game as scary or more scary than RE4?

I sounds/looks awesome but kind of scary, but since on RE4 was mostly all-alone and this one's not maybe the fear factor isn't as big?

About 400kb for the PS3 and 1.8mb for the 360. This is pretty much an unlock key to me. Even if it's just a code using data off the disk.. they could have EASILY put that code in the game before it was released, but nope. They wanted $5 more from many users for this small dlc which is COMPLETELY off the disc itself.

Oh my God. I feel the exact same way. This is ridiculous, why do they use the DLC in such a backstabbing manner? Developers should use the DLC option to create new content from scratch, or give us new characters, maps, items, etc, etc. Fan base based DLC? Play as the Tyrant from RE2? That would make me actually consider buying the DLC. For that I can understand that they are asking for something in return, but no. We have content which we can't reach unless we pay for the unlock key which gives access to the content which we already should have received when we bought the game. I feel ripped off and I hope this doesn't become a trend anytime soon.

It's already a trend of DLC. TBH I hate it. All these map packs they think it's worth $10 or more, but they're not. Well.. all I'm ganna do is use a friend's PSN account, download it and we both have it for $2.50 each.. still meh, but.. meh. lol

Capcom explained why they were charging us for the DLC.

"Although Versus mode makes use of the assets that exist in the game, the functionality is not currently in the game and is above and beyond the initial scope of Resident Evil 5. As well as the costs of development of the feature, there's also additional bandwidth costs associated with it."

I'm not too bothered by it really. After all, it was a mere 400 points.
And seeing how this one was already on the disc, I have hopes for another, new DLC.

Even so, it's still weird, playing against each other while you can't run and gun. I love it when people try to ambush you while everyone has a floating icon above their head.

I'm 110% sure they completed that source code and they even told the public that they will release a DLC. They had the trophies/achievements already on the disc. It was planned from the start to release a small source code for this. It's just another $5 a person they can make money from.

Sure $5 isn't a lot, but I hate how these companies are coming up with this retarded idea of DLC = instantly good. It doesn't work like that. If it's worth the money then yes, but what's really worth $10 for DLC? I don't see anything worth that much. Not even CoD:WaW. As much as I love WaW and the dlc it still isn't worth it. With $10 I could have bought a down loadable game from PSN and be satisfied with it.

I bought the DLC for COD:WaW just so I would stop being kicked out of games when it got to a map I didn't have. :(

Yeah it's so annoying isn't it.

But how much does it cost? 10 Euro? More? All that money for a couple maps? It's not worth it imo, meh.

Yes, the money or the points isn't the problem. But I to would like to anticipate for something much better. And this DLC is something I won't purchase, not under these conditions. They better come up with something cool first. >:(

Aye, Aye. That's true and I also read how people are already saying how broken Midnight Wesker is, or how Jill is to fast. People are spamming cheap kills all over the Versus matches by abusing Boss spawn points for ammo, and using the Grenade Launcher's knockdown tricks..

You are right, you are totally right. But if the content if truly something unique or if it offers other characters, like Excella or the Bird lady, or Hunk, or Tofu, or Dr William Birkin. Then I will gladly spend $10 bucks on it. The problem I have with this DLC is that it's trespasses my own freedom of choice. I bought the game therefore I expect that game to have everything on it the moment I pass the money to the cashier. Anything else aka DLC is strictly optional for me to consider purchasing. The point is that this is something incomplete, and in order to call it truly my own complete game, I would need to buy the DLC to unlock that fulfilled feeling of achieving 100% of the game. Which is completely absurd. They just thought: ''Hey, let's try to lock some extra content on the disc away for these idiots overseas! Just to see how it goes, and if enough people buy the already present content in this manner, we'd be ripping them off bad and they'd be buying their games twice! Ti's brilliant!'' >.>

Slightly Off-Topic: I'm trying to find a good capture card for my Playtation 3. I really want to show of my skills on Mercs but I have to find one first. Kind of eager to show of my scores in Story Mode as well. Please Pm me any links or advices, so we can keep this about RE5.

So I finally played it. HORRIBLE with ragequitters. You win ez pz they rage quit and nothing goes against them. Out of 10 matches roughly half had rage quitters. I can't stand shit like that.

Another thing is Capcom wasn't finished with the DLC? Bullshit. Even more proof is in the game itself. "Shoot other players" blah blah blah. Shit was planned out to charge $5 from the start. They just took a piece of source and went "we'll plant this shit in later <evil laugh>"

I'm so tempted to buy this game..

Is it similar to RE4 in scaryness?

If it is, it's a NO, but because of the CO-OP I guess it's not as scary.

RE5 definitely has it's creepy moments, but I thought RE4 was scarier. (Not mentioning the older games that were a lot more scary)
Just the whole atmosphere, darker, more sinister. The fact that you have a partner around in RE5 helps too, I guess.

So, there's one. Grim, agree with me so we have another person to keep this thread alive!

Yeah, people always find ways to get unfair advantages so they can win. That's why I don't really like competitive games. The percentage of ragequitters is pretty high too, if you have a bunch of friends, play with them rather than with random strangers.

Really hope for another, better DLC for this game.

And how does the "weapon upgrading" work?

Do you have to complete the game to be able to get Infinite Ammo & other upgrades?

You can upgrade weapons (Firepower, reload speed, capacity, piercing, scope, semi-auto), but to get unlimited ammo, you need to have finished the game at least once. To unlock unlimited ammo for a specific weapon, it'll cost you exchange points.
Upgrading is pretty easy, select weapon > upgrade > upgrade one of the options.

Unlimited rocket launcher if you beat the game under 5 hours. :)
