I hear the HD PVR ones are really good. Did you buy yours from a store, or on the net at like ebay or something ?

The Difference is noticeable on bigger TV's for me. I myself want to get the Blackmagic Intensity. Prolly cause it's name sells.. lol Oh and it looks sexy. I did read all the specs on it though and it seems worth the price.

I heard that for PS3, in order to use capture card, you have to use Component or SD? Something about encryption. If so, that sucks.

I heard something like that also. You also cannot have your PS3 Video settings set to HD.. =[ That is gonan suck hardcore. What's the point of playing in HD if you can't reminisce the crisp Hi Def action.. I wonder if there is a way around it. i see 720p qaulity Ps3 vids on youtube so I think it's possible.
Blackmagic one is $200 I want one! But I'm on Ps3 =\

I always used the BlackMagic Intensity Pro to record from my 360 via HDMI. There was pretty much no delay either, you could just turn off the TV and watch the computer monitor instead. I liked the BM better than the Hauppauge, also for the fact you could make screenshots so easily. The Hauppauge records through component, and always has a delay, so you must get double cables/splitters so you can watch at both TV and PC, whereas with the Intensity Pro you could just watch on your PC. Recording through component on the Hauppauge looks still very good, I barely see any difference with the BM that recorded through HDMI.

I checked up on it Ruyi. PS3 does have HDMI, but the games use HDCP. Basically something that's supposed to prevent piracy or something like that through HDMI. So if someone wants to record in HD on PS3, the have to get component.
Everyone thought HDCP was only going to be used for Blu-Ray movies.... If only that were so.

Oh yeah I remember reading that crap, ridiculous. Either way, recording through component still looks good. With the Hauppauge at least, don't know about any other devices. It's just annoying to switch cables every time because I usually connect the console through HDMI.

Never seen one of the capture devices being used, so I'm not sure what you mean by needing to switch cables, or "collect the console."

Think she meant "connect " lol And Switching cables cause for both Ps3 and 360, you need to use different cables for Full HD effect. One is Standard Component and the other is for HD

I meant connect, blame it on the heat melting down my brains. Anyway, this is the setup I used when I still had the BM Intensity Pro: The BM (built in PC) didn't have double slots, so I could only watch the Xbox footage on the PC. (360 signal >> PC with BM) I needed a splitter so the signal was split and I could just watch my TV while recording on the PC.(360 signal >> splitter >> TV & PC (recording) It's a luxury thing, because there was no delay with the BM, so I could just have watched it on the PC. The Hauppauge, however, has a delay, so I can't just watch the PC because everything I see on there already happened a second ago, which is a long time in an action game. The setup for the Hauppauge is similar, except the Hauppauge has a built-in splitter, and the cables are now component cables. ...I hope that made sense. OvO

Yeah, that makes sense. Been debating getting a capture card for a long time now. Still undecided though.

A Dazzle is okay if you want a decent capture card for a low price. But don't expect any HD footage. If you can't record through HDMI, the Hauppauge is good. The BM was great too, but - and maybe it's just me - they broke down too fast, within a year I was on my 3rd card. They have good customer service, though a little slow, and each time I had to send in the card on their costs, and after they checked it, they sent me a brand new one free of charge.
The Hauppauge is easier to connect and you don't have to build it in, and the quality is really good. I just checked it again and I can't tell which device I used in my videos. Only downside for me is the component (because I have to switch from HDMI) and the lack of a screenshot feature (can be solved with editing programs that can make stills).

They're both $200 or more though. :| Not gonna bother with Dazzle, if I'm going to use a capture card, I'm going for HD. Maybe I should save some money. lol
