I am looking for an mmo that focuses on grinding with parties like (the concept) of silkroad. I have tried many mmos like forsaken world, shaiya, aika and other games where there was a good party system but people on play on parties to do quests or things like instances then go solo ,but I am looking for a game that forces players to party play and doesn't emphasis much on quests but on party grinding such that the put versatile roles to different classes to manage a party.
any recommendations ?

Couple of games for you i would recomend, most of them are P2P but some F2P also.

Aion: Assault on Balaurea

Like grinding huh? If you are ready for P2P MMO then i'd tell you to try out Aion (on Pserver before buying ofc) Most of leveling is done in dungeon parties and there is pretty much PvP ptions if u like Massive Zone Wide PvP events. And its really candy for an eye, graphics are just amazing. Rates are what they are, a lot faster than silkroad ofc (was able to get lvl 46 in a month (55 is the max lvl at the moment). Of course if u totaly hate PvP then I would not recomend too much since High end gaming has a lot need for protection of the party since you never know where enemy is hiding.

Rift: Planes of Telara

New sweetie MMO that includes many things that has not been seen before, and since you like grinding, this might just be the game for you. You see, things called 'Rifts' appear throughout the world, these portal like things have stages and you have to defeat monsters they send to the world, if rift is not defeated soon enough it will unleas invasions to assault different areas of the map, also vast Zone wide invasions occur and world events (currently world event called River of Souls is goign on). Rifts can need only 1 person to defeat it (at lower levels) but at Higher levels they will turn into raiding. Other than rifts, this MMO offers Warfronts to PvP (of course PvP servers are also avaliable) dozens of different dungeons, couple of raids and many more.

World of Warcraft

I think this doesnt need too detailed presentation. Mainly PvE focused with nice raiding and dungeons, having fun with friends and collecting stuff. if you want an MMO with a lot content, huge ammount of players and large world and lore to explore, this could be the game for you. Battle Chest which includes Original version + Burning Crusade upgrades costs something like 20-30€, and then there are two other updates, but if you wanna try out you can pretty much do it with the battle chest edition. However if u want something that has awesome graphics, I would not recomend this.

Allods Online

havent played this F2P MMO a lot, but i heared its decent for Free to Play and has some dungeons and PvP, but dont know a lot about it, feel free to try it out tough.

Just because it has a different art style, doesn't mean the graphics aren't good.

F2P and easy to level via quests. Daily quests that reset. Nothing that you have to grind unless it's for a quest.
Dual Class System(soon a triple class)
Cap 62

so aion looks like a good choice first is it still active at low level or are most people high level now?
How is its party system you say they party at dungeons but is that only at high levels like sro or from the beginning?

also rohan looks good since it rewards extra exp for joining parties but do people still play it?

It's not that I like grinding alone, but I like grinding in parties like sro
where (at least when I started it ) you always play in parties to level up from barpole to yeti.

Just curious, but what things does Rift include that have not been seen before? I ask this because Rift is pretty much a re-skinned WoW.

Well mainly the Rifts, World events, invasions, guild quests (yea I know its comming to WoW also), artifacts and some end game things probably since I havent been able to searcharound them a lot yet. But not dramaticly different things that has been seen somewhere else (expect things above), but re-skinned WoW, wouldnt say it like that. And ofc it has similarities (as many MMOs have) so dont think rifting and artifact hunting is only thing you can do there, not too much content yet tough, game has been up for bit over a month now.

And above, mainly meant to compare WoW's and Aion's graphics together and should be kinda visible that Aion graphics are overall more detailed. Can be disadvantage also depending on computer specs.

There's nothing wrong it WoW's graphics to be honest, it's no reason to refrain from playing it.

i lvled up a priest to 78 a few months ago, still enough people playing on the low levels.
the game has become a bit easier because there is less low level competition = less low level pk.

oh and basically you will always need a party to play in unless you are a wizard.
if you want any info about the classes, give me a pm. i can then also tell you which classes are commonly used in parties (some classes are less interesting or dont add much to a party).

Rifts are just a copy of a game mechanic from Warhammer I believe. World Events? Like...rare spawns in WoW? Aren't invasions just another form of World Events? Artifacts = Archaeology in WoW.

WoW has been around for years. Blizzard has polished that game to be amazing. Rift is just more polishing of an already polished game.

It's a reskinned WoW, and Trion isn't as big a name as Blizzard is. Simple as that.

Exactly my point. It already has a huge player base behind it.

lol every MMO can be compared to another.

They add few new features, but can't expect them to be completly different, they are MMO RPG...

I played WoW for a long time, and I am on Rift since start, and I really enjoy it, it is much different than WoW in a few ways. And its not even 6 months old yet, they add new things and are constantly tweaking the game.

And tbh what got me to leave WoW is I could not really stand the graphics anymore compared to Aion / SRO / Rift. And also the too many hardcore players who are there for years who act like they are godlike and virtual super heros... Just the attitude.

And there is nothing like Rifts/Invasions and World Events in WoW btw.

I have enjoyed rift as well. I just love searching for artifacts and closing rifts, dungeons arent my favorite thing to do anyways.

Ontopic:
If u want P2P MMO, start trying in Pservers or WoW has 10-day free trial, rift doesnt have trial atm as far as I know. Monthly cost of those MMOs is little bit different but not big, WoW and Aion are something like 15€/Month an Rift is 13€/Motnh, not a huge difference really so dont let it bother you.

How is its party system you say they party at dungeons but is that only at high levels like sro or from the beginning?

Most of players are somewhere around middle levels (20-40). Begining of the game is mostly done aloen or with a friend or two (1-9), Levels 10-17 can be done a lot faster with party and real grinding aint neccesary, levels 17-20 normaly quests are group quests and need 3-5 ppl (campaing quests, its the storyline). At lvls 20-30 you have options to do pretty much elite group grinding (at 'Grinding spots' or Dungeons like Fire temple and Siel Chamber(s)), most dungeons however are avaliable at higher levels (40+). What i heard that end game (50-55) is party focused, because if you're grinding alone other player might attack you, and can even be higher level (last areas are for levels 50-55, so lvl 50 doesnt stand much chanches against good geared 55 player), so group is pretty reguired, but most groupping is done at Griding Spots for campaing quests and in dungeons, some daily quests have groups also, but there is no quest like 'Kill 1000 Barpolles'.
Leveling in Aion is pretty fast, it doesnt take as long as in SRO to get capped, but does reguire some effort.

WoW goes with quests, vast storyline and dungeons and raids, someone else could explain more detailed info bout that.

My favorite is still rift but what i would change in it would be the community in the forums, 80% of posts is just pure raging and complaining. WoW and Aion has slightly better beginer-friendly community.

Hope I did ansver some questions, lost control of my hands while writing ^^

That's what I'm gonna say every time now when I wanna go troll someone :sohappy:

OnT: Allods sounds like a good game for you, although it is quest focused. But once you get to endgame (which won't take that long, considering its lv cap is 45), it's pretty much raid/party grinding in Heroic Dungeons and Astral.
