Appears me( I couldnt hours ago ) and tons of other people cannot connect to steam now, even though we could earlier.( with beta enabled )
I looked on steam forums and found this thread

From DerrickG "The issue should be fixed. You should be able to connect to the beta. If you are still unable to please keep trying. You will eventually get in!"
Just wanted to post incase anyone else was having the issue..
