I've always wondered why basically every game is quite a lot more expensive in euros than it is in USD or Pounds.
For example, Steam pre-order of Mw3 with a free copy of Mw1 costs : 60 Euros or 39 pounds (43 euros) or 60 USD (39 euros). The same goes for practically any game.
As they don't offer any physical copies i don't see why the prices should be so different (there are no extra costs involved for shipping or anything).

Because Steam doesn't know conversion rates. Besides I doubt they care. They make a little extra dosh from you.

Also Russia can buy Dead Island 4 pack for $100. Yeah.

If a company sells their game for less through their own or other means, then retailers will pull their product off the shelves. So it has to be the same price throughout the market (not taking into account sales that other retailers might have of course).

That's in regards to why they charge the full $60 online... As for selling it for 60 euro, I don't know why they do that.

Am so glad we still have our own currency here in the UK, brilliant global conversion rates.

Makes buying things (such as games in this case) nice and hassle free :D

That doesn't make sense seeing if you buy the real product you get a case, a disc and depending on a the game a (proper) manual.

Basically, if you want a retailer to sell your game, you can't offer it for a lesser price through other means, or they'll pull your product. It's to keep all businesses in the competition I guess, even though with digital, you don't get all the hard stuff, true.
