So far, it is looking like Bioware has learned their lesson from DA2, game is looking amazing. There's lots of videos available on YouTube. On a tablet, so I don't have any links right now. Anyone else getting this day one?

Sometimes I really hate New Zealand. We're actually 2 days behind on this release.

I am so conflicted...
Do I really want to spend $60 on a mostly single player game...ON ORIGIN?

Pretty damn good so far, this is the game Dragon Age 2 should have been. Huge open areas that take hours and hours to complete, combat is a mix between DAO and DA2 and actually hits a sweet spot. Story so far is okay, not as bad as DA2 but not as good as DAO. Overall though, I'm having a lot of fun with this.

I'm having trouble deciding what character to play. Other than that, lots of fun.

Just bought it today, 45$ on GMG :') I haven't played DA:O and I think I was about 80% finished DA2 when I stopped playing. I am probably gonna be lost in Inquisition

So, I'm liking MP. Though getting into a game as elementalist, and the others are, 2 level 3 legionare, and a level 3 archer, things are not going to go well.

Loved the game, little disappointed there are only 2 straight options for male inquisitors though.

Played for a couple of hours, didn't get hooked. Going to delete my game and try it again after next semester.

Just finished my 2nd playthrough, about 40-45 hours each. Love the game, started the 3rd right now but not sure how quick that will be. Been spoiled by my dual daggers dmg that anything else I touch just sucks balls.

Fun and OP as **** combined with assassin tree. Don't think I hit over 1500 during my mage playthrough. My rogue managed to deal 11k at times lol. Two AoE dags with 500 DPS each helps as well I'd say.

40 hours? Are you even doing anything besides the story?

Yea, I discovered early on that Dual Daggers is pretty OP. I was a bow user so I made Sera use Dual Daggers and once she got the Tempest subtree...GG. She does an insane amount of damage and doesn't aggro thanks to the passive in the Subterfuge tree.
I'm playing through on the hard difficulty and dragon fights have been really challenging. My first dragon kill.
However, I haven't beat the game yet. In fact, I've only encountered one dragon if I remember correctly. I haven't played the game since early December. Without spoiling the story, I'm at the part where you gain access to the second specializations and the rest of the map really opens up.
I think I've put about 40 hours into the game so far and I feel I've barely scratched the surface of the game. I can easily say my faith in Bioware has been restored. The art design is stunning.
MMOs take up so much of my free time that I've just sort of stopped playing Dragon Age despite how much I enjoyed it.

I do Joey, true I don't explore every square inch of the game and I'm sure I skip several quests due to it. The fact I don't play on a hard difficulty helps as well I bet.
What do you mean by second specialization? I killed just one dragon on my first play, all 10 on my second. I ran into them way later into the game so some died very quickly due to the level difference.
The fact areas have set levels is what bothers me about the game, I can only assume it's done for the materials but have to say I'm no fan of the concept.

The part of the game where you're able to take quests from some NPCs that allow you to choose a specialization.
http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Classes ... isition%29
When I played, I tried to avoid having a Knight Enchanter in the party as they make the game extremely easy even on Hard difficulty. It's easily the most broken class in the game.
Do you 100% complete a zone before moving on? The devs have said that it's intended for players to bounce around from zone to zone. If an enemy is 2 or more level higher than you, you should move on to another zone and come back later. I haven't had any issues with enemies being under-leveled but I'm think I'm still only midway through the game so I can't say much.
From what I've noticed, areas do have a sort of 'soft' scaling. Ex. Area A has a minimum level of 12. You level up to 13. Enemies in Area A also levels up to 13. You level up to 14. Area A enemies are also level 14. From my experience, it seems to cap out at around 2-3 levels higher than their minimum level.
Overall, I agree with you. There is so much to do that I feel I like I'm going to level up too fast and make some zones unfun if I stay in one area for too long.

I know the specializations ofcourse, the second part is what threw me off since you only get one specialization class.
I never noticed the soft scaling you mentioned however I did notice some areas within a single zone house higher leveled mobs than the rest of the area. Aka running into a rift who spawns lvl 12 mobs in the hinterlands, when you just started the game lol.
Also I do not 100% a zone, I play DA, and for ex. ME, for the story progression so I do try to complete a lot of side quests and objectives (rifts/camps etc) but I do have to progress with the main story once in a while. And once I notice I'm close to the end I end up rushing it causing me to miss out on stuff. For example my first playthrough I skipped an entire zone apparantly. I read online about schematics and such and they kept mentioning a place I had never been to so I checked and noticed I never unlocked the area.

Seems like we both have similar playstyles. I explore around a bit then I progress the story once I'm a level higher than the recommended level. I'll admit, I did try to 100% clear the Hinterlands when I first started. That didn't go very well when I was level 8 and was encountering level 12 rifts...
I tried to like the tactical camera but the controls are horrible on PC. I'm not sure if they patched that yet as I haven't played in a while.
This is one Of the few games where I'm actually looking forward to DLC.

Haha I know right, lvl ~6/7 exploring the hinterlands when I turn around a corner and see a dragon taking off. I think oh cool! then he flies over breathing fire 1shotting 3 out of 4 party members basically...ouch
Also yeah, always enjoyed bioware's DLC for DA and ME, got them all for all 5 games (so far)

This is one Of the few games where I'm actually looking forward to DLC. Can be easily fixed by plugging xbox controller, tactical camera is rather pointless anyway. Maybe dlc will bring more challenging areas, where it's actually required. Overall really nice game.
