To Be: Added
Suggestion: Movie forum.
Reason: i think my sticky in General discussion is not enough and there are many new topics like "my new vid" etc
To Be : Added
Suggestion : More moderators
Reason : pr0n spam bots and dumb people who reply to them, with more mods at different time zones = less work to do for each mod.

i have noticed that the pm system seems a bit bugged every now and then.
some messages are sent immidiately, some messages stay in the outbox
for several days. that is not just when ppl are offline or something. is that
normal or is it something to look in to?

Well actually, when a message is in the outbox, it means that it is pending for recieval. I.e the person has not opened it yet, not that it hasnt been sent yet w00t wrote: Silver0 wrote: Would Like The Chat Feature to BE fixed Me too Key-J wrote: Well, it was removed due to bandwith. maybe rewards for people who have made good sigs and are helpful
not big rewards custom user rank type reward
also rewards for the people who suggest a idea that gets put into place

+1.
Expanding upon that, on a Forum site that I used to use while playing another MMORPG, they had even more restrictions on that. It was a sort of eBay-type site, where you traded ingame items. Kind of just like an out-of-game auction site. Here. Gay game, I know.
On the site though, you would have a specific rating needed to do certain things.
Perhaps, it'd be better if you'd do something similar on this site as well?
Ex.
15 posts need to actually make your own thread - thus ensuring that people don't sign up just to post AdBux topics or something, or Forum Bots?
30 posts needed to post outside links - no pornography, viruses, phishing sites.
And so on, and so on. I honestly think that might help to cut down on a little of the problems here on the Forums - not that those problems are anything major, but since you were asking for Suggestion to make SRF better than it already is, that's just my idea, my humble opinion, is all.

I disagree on 15 posts to have a new topic. Lets say Joe blow who views the forums everyday, but never posts has question and cant find the answer. What does he do? Hijack another thread?
Edit: Thought of a new idea didnt feel like posting another reply. How bout a Screenshot Checker or something to that effect. I know currently the admins are responsible for that, but the few times they login they have to deal with the problems and most of the time dont have time to deal with the screenshots.

I would like to see a warning system and point system. As stupid as it sounds it actually would encourage people to be more helpful, helps strengthen the community rather than $hit around.
I think everyone should be responsible for what they do. If you flame/reply to spam posts/open stupid bot discussion thread, you should receive a warning. Not a only-between-mods warning, but by a official warning system. And if you make a contribution to the forum, like writing a guide, making sigs for ppl, translating future updates *hint hint*, *nudge nudge*, *WINKS at Key-J* you should get reward points. That kind of stuff.

i have a suggestion.
replace the postcounts for a karma system.
im getting tired of people whining about postcounts. most of us seriously dont
give a shit about postcounts, and i believe that the people that constantly
complain about it do.
sometimes we just want to post and fool around a bit in the OTL, but whenever
a thread like that comes up, there is somebody posting crap about "that wont
make your e-penis bigger" or whatever. seriously im getting really annoyed
by this. if there would be a karma system, the postcount stuff could go and
we could have a non karma OTL or whatever.

Suggestion for the Artists Corner
We could really use a subforum strictly for signature/avatar/guild icon requests. Its hard for a lot of the incoming requests to be sorted into their appropriate areas for maximum efficiency. I am a mod for a Battlefield2 community, and I implemented this system and it works beautifully.
Each new person who comes in for a sig/graphic makes one new post into the request forum, following the protocol laid out by a large sticky at the top of the forum.
Here are some screenshots of my forum for reference:
Root graphics area
Protocol listed
all incoming requests follow protocol or don't get filled.

i agree.
however, it might be good to have a certain structure in sig requests. maybe
add a sticky showing what the requests should look like.

Do you think the screens I posted were from an art forum? If so you're wrong. http://www.bf2combat.net Its strictly Battlefield2 but they recognize and have enough respect for the artists who contribute so much to their community to give the smallest bit of structure, thereby alleviating a lot of hassle on the designers AND the requesters. We have filled over 45 sig requests in 4 weeks, and it goes much faster with this system.
