I am a bow user myself, and after 3X lvls of arrow shooting. i've got some thoughts about the bow and would like to share with people.

A bow character is very fun to play, he/she can shoot from far, and some of the skills looks pretty cool ( ie. strong bow, anti devil, etc.), and you can kill the mob before they can hit you, or only taking one hit and the mob is dead. Also, you can get some pretty cool crit hits as well.

however, all this coolness have a price to pay. first of all, we all know our inventory space are very important to us to put those life saving potions, recovery kits, return scrolls, abnormal pills, your wolf, and lots of other stuff. but on top of that, for a bow user you need to put your billions of arrows. unless you use silk and buy the 10k arrows item to save yourself some space for item drops.

Second, a bow user does not have a shield, so you'll take more damage from mobs and don't have block. but you can sort of make it up by having a pure STR bower which has lots of HP.

Third, a bower's skills are little bit less powerful than other weapons, but ppl will say bowers got strong bow. but the problem with the strong bow is, it takes ages to actually shoot the arrow. you press strong bow, you charging charging and charging, and then some nuker came in and one hit nuked the mob you're trying shoot at. a soul spear or a nuke can attk much faster than strong bow, and almost as powerful.

After all, you may think it is pointless to be a bow user, but i still think there must be something or some way to play the bow. otherwise, they wouldn't make the bow there for nothing.

i remember when i first started this game, every player i talk to in the game say the bow is weak, they all tell me to go STR glavie or INT spear for most damage and blah blah blah.

i don't care what they say, if they say is the weakest weapons in the game, ok. i will find a way to play it effectively.

if arrows took too much space?? buy a monkey and buy the 10k arrow to save you some space.

if no shield, do some alchemy, add it up.

if attks are slower, plan your combo, try some faster attks skills, try anti-devil, multi shoot combo.

test out your fighting style with your bow skills. There is no such thing as a weakest weapon in the game, just depends on how you use it.

almost as powerfull? I've never seen a strong bow hit more than my nukes.

sometimes they crit. it also depends on the gear.........

i mean almost, not equal. like the highest damage a bower can do is a strong bow that crit. and a nuker is his/her nukes, etc.

im a full INT lightning bow user (lvl31) and tbh im having no problems with the monsters. I haven't played PvP (since full INT sux at it) nor guild-wars.
My fill-INT means little HP so i have to be carefull not to be attacked by 3 or more monsters (of my lvl) at the same time, but most of the time the monsters are allready dead before they even reach me

Full int comes in handy: shooting from far with the bow (crit or no crit) and once they come closer using the thunderbolts gives around 2000damage in 2 shots. which is easily enough for this lvl

maybe my char wont be so strong in the future, but for the first 40 lvls its fun to play

lol dude, bowers come close to killing me like...everytime i fight them. Im lvl 29 (soon to be nuker) and im hybrid int. My health dips down so drastically from bowers its ridiculous. Once Im lvl 30 and can nuke ill be able to fight their range with my range, but until then i have to run up to them and do frost nova wind, or ghost spear+imbue, or something... Its ridiculous, ive never gotten killed by a bower yet, but also, the bowers at my lvls cant have strong bow. I cant nuke yet and they cant use their big baddy skills. Idk what to do. If a bower sneak attacked me and got a strong-bow off and it hit me, i might die, if it crit'ed me i probably would be dead.

Bowers are scary, I always feel confident fighting them because i know once im in range i can generally kill them fairly easily, but theres always that little voice in the back of my head going "DONT CRIT DONT CRIT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THAT IS HOLY DO NOT CRIT!!!!!"

oh and i have a pure str fire archer... (different char)....

I dun really like it but everyone has a different playing style...

Int bow does fine pvm, but is a joke in pvp. The crits are useless and a joke.

even with a crit strong bow its still weaker than a nuke and their nukes dont take 3.5 seconds to charge ._.

yep, i know, that's why i said the strong bow takes ages to shoot. ^^

um... have yuo SEEN a strongbow cirt. especially zerked, i have done 15.5k dmg at lvl 39 the most i've EVER seen a nuke do at 39 is maybe 10k (zerked) archers can do the biggest single hits in the game. they just arn't that great at PvP (1v1 PvP that is in groups they kill, alot)

oh and senapanaga thinking DO'NT CRIT DON'T CRIT! while fighting a bow user is like hopeing a glaiver won't use soul spear when your fighting XD there is a reason we have a 20-30 crit increase

ye i did considring i am one (lvl41now)and nukes still out dmg a crit strong bow.

^^ I'm a lvl 42 hybrid nuker and i still havn't seen a sb out hit me. The chance of them criting isnt v. high either. Kingfisher in your first post you said soul spear and nukes are almsot as powerfull, i do more than most bow users with both. The only way i see it doing more is if they're wearing much better gear than me

Why even compare a full str bow with an int nuker. Doesn't make any sense at all. Nukers are the biggest range damage dealers in the game hands down. Almost like comparing a skate board to a car.
Bows are fun to play even though hvaing almost low- to no invet space suck. mediocre at best dmg, and long charge up moves.

But bows really don't shine until they hit 5x. And fully mature when they hit 69 for the zerk arrow book 3.

We are becuase he said that sb had better damage than a nuke.
