Awesome.

In the middle of updating the first post with round one match ups and new themes/categories.

P.S
Only person I didn't get to confirm if he does or doesn't wish to participate is Fudge so if he says no I'll just simply take his place instead.

EDIT:
K, Updated

I chose to put surreal in the list of themes instead of abstract because I know a lot of people have trouble with abstract tags. Surreal is basically, in terms of the competitions, the most creative things you can produce. Fantasy, abstract, bizarre, weird, dreamy--what ever floats your boat.

T'is what I had in mind.

@Ol3n
Yup. Clean, simple, clear focal.

Also, guys, more themes can be added if suggested and the majority agrees. The ones I picked were all off the top of my head as I was typing the post out just to get the ball rolling.

Sounds good, how about the judging process? Poll, peer critique?

I'll probably get it done by tomorrow, never know what my Chem teacher is gonna throw at me. So who do we PM you our work?

Good question. A Poll could give more of a "straight" answer.

I agree, but at the same time I have a bad feeling that those OTL trolls will wander down here, spam the topic and vote erroneously.

lol, firsts for everything right?

How about interface design? You give us a program you want redesigned and we do it in PS. FB, Twitter, Word, hell even Photoshop for that matter could be possible programs. Of course, it will have to be something that we are all familiar with.

I mentioned judging in the original post. It is poll based until the semi finals which is where you start getting critiques and judged by those who participated in the contest. This is because polls are a lot faster especially if we put a time restriction on them that way we can get through the first couple rounds quicker and then have some artistic insight on the later battles. Also in the semi finals your theme is not random but again chosen by your peers.

My main goal with this contest is to get a little bit more diversity in the AC. So hopefully by doing this we'll push more people into other realms of graphic design.

@deadsolid.
I really like that idea. If everyone else is up for it I'll definitely add it in the list of categories.

@TheKnight
A "LP" just means "Large Piece" it's not a professional term or anything just something coined by most GFX communities. Pretty much you're making something bigger than a tag...at least 700 x 700 pixels in size.

@ExSoldier.
Yeah, just pm your piece and once both parties have done so I'll create a poll thread for them.

PS is still fully capable of vector. It's just more a pain in the ass.

I actually found the Ps Pentool to be more forgiving and easier to pick up? I mean a hell of a lot more easier than Ai. :P

Anyway, Ps might not be as powerful but like Shamori said it is the most well rounded tool Adobe has to offer and can do most tasks just fine including vectoring. I mean my first ever vector tag was done on Ps as well and that was on CS3 so I think if you have CS5 you should be golden.
Spoiler!
