what my objective in this game is, is to be an Archer Theif...but from what ive seen that may not be easy. Full str, full int, fire ice lightning. I like to have a little bit of research to know what to expect so here is my problem.

Is it WORTH making an archer if Pvp is my objective. I hear that they arent that good, I dont want to be dissapointed right off the bat and hate the game...

If so, is ICE worth it. slowdown and freeze are great for my purpose, however I hear ice is now practically useless due to a resistance issue. if so, it would be Fire as a choice with lightning backup?

Str and Int can be debated, I realize this, im THINKING str, because of the issues with ice leaving me with fire as a choice, but any ideas would be welcome

Thank you for reading this, and if you could add anything id love to know

Ques1: Is it WORTH making an archer if Pvp is my objective. I hear that they arent that good, I dont want to be dissapointed right off the bat and hate the game...

Ans: According to what I've seen, blade or glaive should be better since can do better in PvP since they can tank a lot while doing quite decent damage. However it all depends on each person's skills in controlling during the battle

Ques 2: If so, is ICE worth it. slowdown and freeze are great for my purpose, however I hear ice is now practically useless due to a resistance issue. if so, it would be Fire as a choice with lightning backup?

Ans: Well ice imbue can be quite annoying. yea it's not quite effective anymore since there's skills that will decrease the abnormal effect. Besides, frost can be cured using universal pills. If your opponent has tons of pills, then ice would not be a prob to him/her. Fire practically gives the highest damage and lightning are good in buffs.

Ques 3: Str and Int can be debated, I realize this, im THINKING str, because of the issues with ice leaving me with fire as a choice, but any ideas would be welcome

Ans: Well it all depends on what weapon you wanna use. Blade/glavie use str while sword/spear use int. Not quite sure bout bows though..never play with bow yet :P If you like PvP u might want to consider to go for str and taking either blade/glavie since they can tank a lot. Spears and swords..well..it's good in group PvP whereby u can nuke the opponents. So it all depends on your personal preferences

These are just my opinion. Please correct me if I'm wrong :D

i think ur perfecly correct

Bows IMO are for Mobs only: if u go pure int and lightning and have a nice AoE move u can do 1* trade runz easy and u can hunter 5* for friends for the esseption a charecter theif comes.... with that build ull 1 hit so easy

pure str ice PvP-ull be like a weaker nuker while ur friends are attaking u can go and help waste some1's pots and freeze em
if u go fire pretty much the same thing as ice but ur hyrt them more with no ice effect

no no, opinions are what I WANT. now im not so heartset on archer that im not willing to try other things, just that in my mind its the coolest of the choices.

so your telling me that archers cant sustain damage well, thats understandable, though with the slowdown from ice and a speed upgrade from lightning I can always move away...but if ice doesnt work that well, then thats a problem.

I suppose my real issue is with ice, without it, the archer path seems a little less powerful. If its abilities are so easily nullified, especially in high levels, it might not even be worth getting, so that would draw me more tward glaive.

before I make a decision, id like the opinion of an archer who believes they are doing okay

well... cant rlly give u an opinion on the ice part but being an archer is pretty awsome u just have to know how to play it... and use your brain a little ^^

If u plan on sticking with archer go fire for the extra dmg and lightning aswell for grasswalk an archer's advantage in pvp is its distance so bassically dont just stand there while some glavie pounds on you from close range u shoot off some arrows and wen they get close ghost walk away and shoot again making him have to run towards u again while he is wasting his time running towards you, you are dealing dmg the whole time. any build can be great as long as you put some thought in to it and know what your strengths and weaknesses are :D

of course its the nature of a bow to be used at range, now thats just a given ^_^ but Ive chosen so far this...

Bow, Fire(prim), Lightning(sec for buffs). Now for armor I was thinking that since im most likely going for a primarily strength build, I should try and get some magic defence through my armor, so would garment be my way? or protector...

Well just for the record I´d thought to answer the same questions but with different opinions.

Ques1: Is it WORTH making an archer if Pvp is my objective. I hear that they arent that good, I dont want to be dissapointed right off the bat and hate the game... Bows are pretty decent in pvp.. not superior but good enough for me. 1v1 they may not be that awsome.. but in groups they´re certainly essential. It is certainly not a bad build to go with (p.s. a pure str ice bow-users won the ksro tournament if I remember correctly ;)

Ques 2: If so, is ICE worth it. slowdown and freeze are great for my purpose, however I hear ice is now practically useless due to a resistance issue. if so, it would be Fire as a choice with lightning backup? You have a total of 300sp to spend on mastery´s, so you can take 2 main mastery´s (pacheon+ice/fire => 90+90) and take two submastery´s to support (lightning+ice/fire => 60+60). What I´m gonna do is to atleast take fire till lvl 60 so I lvl faster, and then think if I´ll leave it as a sub or take is as my main force. Ice might be good in the long run, because it´s more defensive.. but with this new alchemy and stuff I need a while to figure it out.

Ques 3: Str and Int can be debated, I realize this, im THINKING str, because of the issues with ice leaving me with fire as a choice, but any ideas would be welcome
You really wanna go pure str, or atleast heavy str (90%+ balance) because of the skills. Adding to much in int will leave you with low hp and low crits, both of them are essential when pvping.

can you please explain what this means? I realize your trying to use 300 pts, but I see ice/fire twice...so im a little confused

Edit: OHHH I see, Ice/Fire is a CHOICE, ah ^_^ stupid me

hehe yeh sorry ^^ it´s a choise as you can take both fire or ice as main

If you keep fire as main, you have ice for the +phy defense
If you keep ice as main, you have fire for the +phy attack

Atleast those are my thoughts :)

With the addition of autopot (which in my opinion is a horrible addition at that) I think im going to choose fire, with ice and lightning for the buffs. Im sorry but when you can select a checkbox for status ailments automatically using a pill...thats lame...

Int Archers just don't have enough HP, imo. I have a friend who is 1 level below me who is an Int Archer, and I can take him out with 1 strong bow and a 3 arrow combo. I'm currently a 3x str archer and I'm 100% satisfied with the amount of HP I have as well as PvP I have done. If you're planning to theif(or hunt), think about bringing a buddy along that can occupy the player while you get a stronger shot off. STR is the way to go.

Get Fire as your main for the physical damage buffs and protection series. Level lightening to at least level 32 so you can get grass walk flow to a decent level as well as phantom walk. Also lvl up concentration if you have the SP

As for equipment, every piece I have is at least STR Increase 3+ as well as INT Increase 1+. I would think about only purchasing things that have STR increase. Once you hit lvl 32, bows you use should have at least 7 critical as well as try to make them a +3 or greater.

PM me and I'll send you my exact build. One thing to remember, imo, is to never job alone.

Q1) i think if you spend a little time watching the pvp outside the gates of jangan you may get abit of an idea about bows vs others in pvp. what i saw was this: its much faster +easier to get to high levels with bow+int. Hence many of the pvpers I saw were high levellers. Just a slight increase in level in bow-int vs others and the bow wins in pvp. One hit and everyone is dead. Happens again and again

Q2) Ice isn't worth it after elements patch.

Q3) Str bows cannot beat Int bows in range fighting.

From my observations I felt that Bow-ints rule the game now simply becaus eof their one hit range capability. In the pvp types that happens, bow ints win 4 out of 5 duels simply because the non-bow user will die 4 times tryign to reach striking range.

What game are you playing? Seriously. Str bow at level 63 = 9k+ HP, Int bow = 3k HP If I crit them on antidevil they die. They have no stun, no knockdown. If you want to be pure int be a nuker.

Archers are more than deasent in pvp. As stated above, you have to use your brain a little. Achers have range (duh) which means you get the first 1-2 attacks, not to mention anti devil crits 1/3 times, 1/2 times at book3 with a deasent crit bow ;)
