I've never given up before, but there are just WAY too many bots. I've been all over the map, and from 32 to 40 there is not a single place you can grind, much less do the quests, because for every legit player there are twenty bots killing everything. And parties - there are none, if you're Chinese. I mean 8ppl parties of course, which means you have to solo grind all the way, and I'm just not going to do that. It's a waste of time and money to try and get any xp, so I'm calling it quits.
Nice playing with you guys, and good luck.

I can still manage to find good grind spots on the chinese side in fact there's one good flower spot that isn't swarmed with gold bots due to the obstacles. If you need to know any spots you could always PM me.
Also chinese may not be your play style if you prefer to be able to party for a majority of the grinding. Could consider rerolling euro maybe?

Go Euro. China land sucks and will always suck. If you want to make an str build go 2H or 1H euro. Choose a nice sub that you like, and go go go. No reason to quit when you have people to play with.

Good point, that's actually another really good reason to quit. I absolutely LOATHE the Euro builds. I hate them with a passion. And there are no ppl playing Chinese anymore, except gold bots = no parties.

Training on the Euro side without being Euro is kinda pointless, isn't it? You're no good in a party of Euros, and there are no Chinese anymore. It used to be easy to find an 8ppl Chinese party and grind for a few hours, but these days it's all about the Euros...
So even if you ARE in a guild, you have no one to play with.
I wish I was lvl 80 so I could just bot trap 24/7. >_>

This is a discouraging comment to me, that's okay I like grinding on 'greens' solo, masochist maybe? I too have seen the trouble with partying (and guilds) but I'm not level 50 yet so it hasn't taken the toll. The problem training as Chinese on Euro side (if solo) is that the mobs are tougher. I still do it, but just saying. I paid for my son to have a 'pick up pet' but he's working now (which is a good thing) so... oh well...
As for joining another server and befriending strangers, I was tempted. But even some of the 'no-bot' ppl seem to take too militant an attitude for my tastes. I like people and am a social being. Being 'required' to drop from any party who even hints that they may have botted is a little stringent of a 'right wing' attitude to my taste and way of thinking. At least they are not 'RINO's" (Republicans In Name Only), sheesh.
I'm just a simple purist but I don't take responsibility for what others do. For instance, if somebody used to be a belligerent drunk then joined AA and didn't drink anymore I wouldn't mind shooting a game of pool with him or her. In fact I'd rather play with them than play with a reformer. Like ppl who have quit smoking, sometimes they are the least tolerant.
Hope there is a way to play that will accommodate my style, I do have patience but it's not infinite. Currently I play solo unless my kids are online. They understand me and that's a comfort. G2G - son just got off work and IM'd me... toodles!

Grandpa? On Venus? :O
Anyways, the way Venus is shown on the forums is completely different then ingame really. I doubt anyone thinks of us as "militant" ingame.... except the bots.
A don't mind reformed bots, but like reformed alcoholics, they tend to say that they've changed but relapse into drinking again. I've known a few who have stayed legit, and they're accepted into legit guilds too. Its not a "once a bot, always a bot attitude", if they're commited, they are welcomed.

No, not on Venus. But have given serious thought about it. I've been invited to play there, and I'd drag my boys with me should that happen. But what I heard is that 'we' can't party with people who bot (even if they are not doing it at the moment). That's a fine standard to have an to hold, but just not for me is all. I'm not for everybody either. I've befriended felons and murderers in real, I could tell stories like the one about 'Buck', the guy who was recently released from Penitentiary and said, "Sometimes I just feel like cracking melons."
To me? He's a good guy. I understand if others are squeamish though.
Sparrow says: I still think my "madonna mouse" that squeeks when you rub her 'cones' has a niche in the market.
mike says: LOL ya
Sparrow says: two button mouse ... lol there could be a 'fish' adapter so that she would sing, "I'm a sturgen, touched for the very first time... I'm a StuuuuRrrrgen..."
mike says: LOL oh well im really sleepy- kinda wanna nap.... mike says: ZZZzzzzz.... this was felt as a kind of rumbling, Grandpa (Sparrow) thought it was an earthquake at first... then understood his boy was snoring. Anybody who develops the 'Madonna Mouse' as a result of this spoiler can PM me for detail on how to pay royalties. I'll have my people call your people.
Heheh... images of the 'mouse' could be used to 'bump' topics. Better than just saying "+", right?
Oh, by the way... I haven't been 'committed' but my sister was. Against her will. An' they gave her drugs (also against her will). Then they asked her why she felt so much resentment and told her that she seemed disconnected. My sis is a sweetie and older than me, she's called idiosyncratic now. Meh. So although I haven't been 'committed' yet, give me time... I'm working on it. I still don't know what 'meh' means 'cause I don't watch tele-tubbies type cartoons (but maybe I will)... lol (no offense meant) OMG! They Kilt Kenny!
But I do take your point. What I hear you saying is that there are still lots of people who like playing with others, it's like mining gold... (or finding friends) takes awhile but worth it. My dad told me

I'm getting tired of people looking at Chinese as useless in all respects to go with Euros. Seriously, a 8man chinese party would be lame in my opinion. A Mixed one however would be awesome. I played a int hybrid on Pacific once Euro was big and a handful of people were doing Samarkand parties. I trained from Samarkand with them into Hotan and the ice. we would always have mixed parties. Nukers, Bladers, Archers mixed with Clerics, Bards, Wizards, Warriors, etc. The parties were awesome. The Chinese build was made with the ability to solo easier yes, but with the ability to auto share and it be effective, why would they still solo? If no party, fine. But god if you can be in a party, go for it.
You can quit if you wish, if you dont enjoy playing the game then no reason to play or make you. But I really dont think you should for these reasons. You'll be leveling very fast in these parties, and out of Samarkand before you know it. Every build has its place in a party. There are Chinese players with us playing in the caves now. But I dont like the mentality that because they can solo easier, they should. A Euro can solo, not on as high mobs as a Chinese but they can do it.
Anyways. If you choose to stay, I know in union we have lower levels partying. Get to 43, and you can get nice exp off penons and from there on out its pretty easy flyin. If I'm doing parties with the lower levels you're more then welcome if we have a spot. But do whatever makes you happy, you're the one playing the character after all. But I think there are ways to play if you're willing to stick around. Good luck in whatever you choose.

Or just have a little break, and then come play/party with me when I start playing actively again. And sure you can solo on the euro side as a chinese too, I did that with my Str fire bow. Only that I had to fill the storage with arrows, those barbarians in Europe do not know how to fletch good arrows. Well, maybe English bodkin arrows.

Get yourself to 4x Libertarian and you can start joining us at penons. We have always problem with finding reliable party members. Just remember to work with the party and there will be no reasons for you to not grind together with us who are european. Make yourself usefull, as in finding what you can bring to a share party, and the people you grind with will be asking you to come back for sure in the future. What I mean is that euros are made to do what they do, while chinese can be this and that. Take this to your advantage and find many roles of what you can do, so you can easily switch between, depending on how the party is built and what mobs you are grinding on.
Ofcourse you will find yourself being denied a party spot within union from time to time, but we all do that. A share party at red mobs needs to be given a certain amount of care to work at all.
As an ice blader you have HP, ranged skills, great defense, ice!, instant pots, etc to your advantage. I'd suggest you be wearing armor when grinding together with a share party, since the mobs will only be the ones doing physical damage. Oh, and only use your knock down skill when its absolutely needed (a big on this one). Its important for you to learn how the euro builds work; buffs, positions, skills, aggro, etc. Most of the people who are used to solo (or getting plvled) don't. This goes for both euro and chinese builds.

Its is not only the party problem, everyone has those times, for example on weekdays i can start playing around 5pm and most of the people i party with usually are earlier at home and have full parties, that gives me 2 choices (wait or go solo)
Its boring, slow and dangerous as an euro build got to be focused all the time and watch out for those giants
The bot problem is not that HUGE on Venus, just try to check any corner of the map you will be surprised on how many nice spots you will find and usually some free spots where you can grind.
Would also recommend to go as bow on your leveling journey and make the switch to blade since that is where your love seems to be, going as a blade the whole way is really hard.
Go to Samarkand there are quests there, lot of spots where you can grind, just get some good music or connect to Ventrilo (you don`t have to talk, listening can also be fun a lot of positive people on BHA vent, you basically forget the time)
Keep in mind if you like to party play you should switch to euro, china are there to solo grind.

None of that really matters, because the only way a blader can be useful in a Euro party is to lure mobs, and that's it.
Hardly. You can tank a mountain. You dont have taunt skills, but you still have the tanking side of the warrior. We would have bladers with us on Pacific, worked

I played a blader myself on another server and was always wellcome in euro parties as lurer for the party. Add perhaps a bit of lightning skill like lion shout, push grass walk at higher level and you will lure tons of mobs. With your higher auto pot ratio you are a better lurer (not taunter) than any euro char. Go for very fast, multiple strike attacks that attire lots of mobs on you. Lightning has the big advantage that there is no attack delay.
