hey there.
first of all i'd like to say merry christmas for everyone who celebrate it.
second, i'd like to say thanks to those who long time ago helped me choosing my build. ( viewtopic.php?f=4&t=107550 )

now.
it's been a month or so since i capped and it still being a funny for me, but i started to think how the hell i will play in the next cap

for those who haven't opened the link i've posted up here, im a rogue / bard.
more likely a bard... with an xbow in my back.
and it is damn funny for me, seriously. im a mpot eater but still, i love it.

ok, i will try to get to the point.
does anyone know how to calculate the next MP consumption of bard skills for the next cap or is there any web to do it?
thing is, mana orbit already eat around 20k mp, and i barely have 25 (alchemy > me, by a lot), which makes me think that i wont be able to play this str-bard-style-noob in the next cap.

on the other hand, i can change to cleric, but it will be the same i guess, i like to support and i know even with a bard using orbit it will be hard for me to group-heal.

anyway, im stuck here.
i already know my char sucks, also know that i had to choose int instead of str char, so please, avoid stupid comments :P

any suggestion accepted.

Add Int? Go hybrid? You bring up a good point though. I'm gonna laugh when I see warriors trying to pvp after casting healing orbit.

to be honest euro-hybrids sounds pretty wierd to me unless you are a cleric/lock or maybe cleric/bard, but both are int based chars.

this guy added a few lvls to INT, but still im not convinced at all.

anyway, thank you for your reply.

Euro's were originally meant to specialize in 1 field. Thnks to bot farming though, we have ppl ff in both trees. Eventually, without full prem gear, it'll be hard to attack and use magical healing skills at the same time.

Get devil grade, add as much MP as you can, and maybe don't keep your mp orbit fully maxed. If you find that the same level does the job, why waste the sp and mp? Also, maybe you're already doing this, but you can cast the skill which turns hp into mp, and use robes if you aren't currently.

yea, i use rave-harmony once in a while when i really need it.

so, there is no way to know how much mp will cost the new skills :(

edit: will be better using robe?

um i forgot the skill name... but if you are in pt use it :D
its the skill that puts a blue orb over players head and whatever damage they do comes back to you in mp

this + mana orbit means you wont run out of mp in pts
you can also buff none pt members if you see bots running around, let them help you get mp back too

i'll eventually login and see bard skill name :D or if someone knows it lol

edit: mana switch is the name :D use it
you shouldnt have mp problems if you use both switch and orbit and you could have cleric give you int buff too if you're mp is too low to cast skills

edit again: yeah use robes, plus it looks better than light armor, if it helps, i normally keep my mana cycle/orbit about 10 lvls under my lvl it'll heal enough mp and wont cost you to run out either

IMO mana switch sucks.. it only heal a low amount if maxed.
Just cast mana cycle on yourself and your mp will be fine.

um... mana switch heals more than mana cycle on yourself if you switch entire pt

sorry but im not sure i understand ur problem.

u want to use bard skills(orbit) in parties but are worried about low mp on pure str right?

well why?...harp=150% mp increase along with alchemy should give u enough

as for not having mp afterwords, orbit gives mp to the whole pt including u.

my question wasnt clear anyway.
im playing a str bard (...) and some skills, like orbit, eat my whole mp, which is not a problem atm, i was just thinking how it will be in the next cap, with new skill lvl.
anyway, time will tell.

:)

i think you'll be fine at later caps

so far joymax has made it where each skill can be used by any char, so the highest mp cost a skill has will cost just barely under the max mp a pure str has

it might take your entire mp and you cant spam skills back to back, but you can do 1 of them, pot and do another lol

but you might want to not use max orbit because if you use up all your mp, the dances/tambours will end also

IMO joymax might have intended bard to be a support only for int but didnt expect pure str will have enuff mp to cast it. maybe its just a coincidence...i dunno its just a guess. :P

thank you guys, you helped a lot here.

quick question about cleric now.
only cleric, no sub atm, i dont want to farm at all.
i know the dmg will be low and it will be hard to lvl solo, but i aim to party a lot with my friends.

the question, should i go a lil bit hybrid for jobwars, gvg and stuff like that? how much?
i dont care at pve, i know i can survive in almost every situation.

thanks, again... ( ´ º Д º )

There is really no point in such thing as EU hybrid, only option you have is to add 10-20 points to str for a bit better survability. 10 str makes you 30:1 int/str "hybrid" and 20 15:1. Clerics skills are costly mp-wise and lack power (excluding offering), you need all the int you can get. Only thing that could make a hybrid work would be godlike gear which could make you reach stats of pure builds or quite close to it.

Also I suggest getting like 40 bard for 50% speed, costs under 4k sp and will save you a lot of time/money. And shield trash from warrior is very useful for tough situations since you're always wearing a shield.

Cleric rods are like the cheapest out of all weapons when you compare SoX prices, so just get one of those and soloing won't be a problem. Though at lower levels you lack skills to solo. o.O

My bro is currently making a char like this. :P

10 war should be ok, i guess..
bard on the other hand, i think i wont need it but since its a very little amount of sp, it might work.

and about this.
i've always thought the same about euros, but now i started to doubt about it.
in the 1st place because i don't wanna be dead in 1hit, even more if im the cleric.
then again, it will be more complicated when soloing, but like i said, im not aiming to it.
if the party works good, i wont need lots of mp anyway.

i have good LA gears (from my other char), not godlike but good enough :D

thanks for your reply.

If you are going to be in parties with a good tanker and other support (i.e. bard), you shouldn't need to go hybrid at all. Using LA with phy/mag buffs on yourself as well as the defense passives, you should be able to tank even wizards in LT as long as you have warrior buffs on. On the other hand, going slightly hybrid should not affect your healing too much once you have good healing skills and equipment with lots of int. It will however, affect your damage with offering.
