well, i don't know what you're going for but, are you going for a fun private server, or for a well-run version of silkroad?
Because, ofc the journey is the best out of it but we all know that it's a great deal of fun to pvp at the highest lvl, honestly, silkroad's journey used to be fun back in isro when the cap was 70.. when the cap got raised to 80.. alright, that's acceptable i guess... when the 90 lvl cap came, it sure felt like a bitch, but since euro was around, no problem.. but now more than that is just shitty.. Everybody loved 70's cap journey with only chinese because while you were at it, the "end" was tangible within a reasonable ammount of time..
I'm giving all this input because it'd be a shame for you to finally be able to have a silkroad server well run with shitty rates, sure it'd still be fun.. but that wouldn't be taking the best out of it...
Everybody will be able to register once we go live. We will start off with 60 cap and incrementaly upgrade to the latest ksro cap, don't worry you'll have enough time

i think the approach being done to this is completly wrong, why don't you try to aim for an AWSOME server, where the cap is 60.
First, try to get it so it's a server with a real community, for example, how Greece used to be one day, if you'd play on it you'd feel like you were in a real world, you could afford guild hopping like crazy because there were just so many different active people that it literally felt like you could never really ever knew everyone. There was this huge circle of known people and it was just amazing, everytime u'd go grind, u'd either find one of the best ppl in the server thieving, hunting, trading, w.e, u'd sit there and chat with them and it'd just be awsome.
My point is, u've seen how most sro's fail, most sro's just focus on getting a new cap, big bam bum, there u go, why the hell are you going the same way? First try to get an awsome server going, a server like there was never before, then when people start wondering about new caps (this will be when there's alredy a huge circle of job activity/pvp/guild wars going on), then you should worry about it, but first get the server to be active, there are LOADS of events that can promote jobbing and pvping, and you DON'T EVEN have to do any programming, just gotta have ideas and organize them, SERIOUSLY guys, you've got a huge chance of providing a huge deal of happiness to everyone, don't screw it please, please be bold, and go genuinely for the fun, what's so much fun.. don't forget what's fun in silkroad.
If you guys need someone to have ideas for the events i'm talking about, to promote shit, i'd be more than proud to help u guys... to achieve a sro state... i've seen how much it can be fun, please don't fawck up..

Agreed.
imo a lower cap with a bunch of events is better than a 110 cap with a bunch of events, even if getting to 110 won't be too hard. Make it like 60 or 70 cap, 80 cap at the highest, balance out the euros and chinese, put in a ton of events and stuff like that and there, you have a giant win.
I'm still going to play even if it goes the way of 110 cap, but I'd actually love the lower caps.
One idea I just thought up of. If you guys do...lets say the 60 cap. Make 8D, 9D, 10D and 11D gear at the same level and stats as 7D. More variety for the last degree. Then people would choose their gear based on how they want to look. Make it so a full set of any of the armors give you a +50 to phys and mag defense or something. So having a full set of 7D gear gives you a +50 to phys and mag def. The same goes for the 8D, 9D, 10D, and 11D armors.
Edit: Maybe implement a system where you can get the higher level skills too. Maybe like skills up to level 80. They'd cost several times more than they are in the real game. So (as an example) Soul Spear Emperor would be at level 60, but cost 5 times as much as the skill would in regular sro. Any skill above level 60 will cost 5 times as much sp, but all be available at lvl 60. People can farm for the higher level skills if the wanted to, though it would take a lot of time.

i'd say let it be as it is, would like to have the skills acording to cap, makes it funnier at least for me

We are aiming for an active and social community, though we will be upgrading with legends like kSRO. of course we will wait with upgrading caps until the server has restored its stability, don't worry we know how fun sro was, that's what we are trying to replicate. But we will stay on cap60 for quite a while, until everything is implented and working as it should be and until the server has reached a stable economy. For now we don't have plans for a 60cap-only server, and I find this unneeded since I'd rather focus on 'one' main server with an awesome community and economy than seperated servers.
and excuse me for my english or if something doesn't make sense, i'm kinda tired
EDIT: Also to make this clear, we will not add any custom options like new skills or higher skills than cap since we are trying to get '1:1' emulation with ksro, with some minor changes like no magic pop, more balanced item mall, etc... and we're not like zszc staff, we don't sell str/int points, we don't sell sp nor items.

good to know and yeah as long as the server stays cap 60~70, when there was actually guild wars between shitloads of people i'll be happy

i wouldn't completely eliminate sp farming, i like it when u're building up to a climax when u're finally getting that one skill that was worth all the effort
