I know, but why pair 6GBs of ram, with the notsogood cpu and gfx card?
not so good gfx card? it still holds and plays most of the newest games. but i do admit it is no 6200. the cpu is the bottleneck i do know that. And i did the 6 gigs cause i got it on sale and plan to upgrade slowly.

you know that sad thing, console gaming has held back the pc gaming industry hard this generation, especially with graphics If I still used my old 8800gts I promise I could get max settings and get AT LEAST 60 FPS, and thats cuda based. Even though the graphic cards have increased, there is no current game to date that I believe that the 8800 cant handle. I say the 8800 was my most favorite video ever, tied with the 6800 and the x800, and maybe the 470
Took my post from 2010 last year and added updates etc in bold. It looks a little ugly but meh.
Mobo - Asus P6T SE still have it ofc CPU - I7 930 @ 3.6 GHz Originally I had the 920, but we had a lightning strike somewhere after this post in the summer, and I was insured so got myself a new one (slight upgrade since the 920 wasn't in stock) CPUCOOLER - Scythe Mugen II Still a bad boy keeping my CPU down nicely. Roughly 70-80 on full load and about 40 on idle RAM - 6GB of 1600MHz DDR3 ram @ 7 7 7 24 (iirc) + fan still GPU - 2x HD4890's in crossfire still have them, slowly being old now though, but I currently only play BF3 as intense graphics game anda that runs on 60+ fps on low/medium which I want it on anyways PSU - coolermaster label'd silent pro 750w New one after lightning struck last year. only my PSU and CPU died so. OS - Win7 64bit STORAGE - 2x 7200 rpm 32MB cache 240GB's in raid0 and external overkill 2x 1TB for my tv shows and movies/documentaries. plus now a 128GB SSD for windows and a select amount of games. SOUND - Sennheiser PC350's headset all a gamer needs, beasting quality and comfort+sound blocking still working perfectly CASE - Antec 900 with a couple of neon tubes that react to sound, a fan controller card with LED Knobs out the front, etc. still working and use it regularly, first time I use such a fan controller, pretty nice! in the summers I have to turn them up a little if my PC isn't fully cleaned of dust in the fans etc MONITOR - My 27" Syncmaster showed problems, after returning it, it's a factory issue so I bought a BenQ 22" HD 120Hz monster for my gaming. I don't regret it. Acc: OCZ alchemy elixir keyboard with a logitech g5/mx518 I now have the Zowie Celeritas mechanical keyboard (cherry MX brown switches) and it's amazing. never going back to normal keyboards, ever! screw rubber membranes. And now use the Logitech G500 mouse. Never turning away from this mouse series, they're the best. NET: 50 mbit got 120 mbit now *boss face* although that's going down soon cus I'm moving out for my study so I'll have to share a line like 50mbit >_> I've setup a media box to run in my room as well, I can stream stuff to my sony bravia now etc, but I'm using that mostly to screw around for my study. I still have it and use it daily, will be setting it up in my new place when I move out soon. One of my fav things I ever set up, this is such a great system to have... it's easy too!
Saved money for all this for quite some time. Glad I bought it. It will last for years, and I can just upgrade graphics cards+another 6GB ram in my other 3 slots in like 3-4 years and be good for another 3-4 years tbh. well here we are, it's 2.5 years later now and this machine is still super powerful. I can run BF3 on low/medium with 60 ish FPS no problem (which I want that way), and Skyrim is the only heavy game that's coming but the recommended specs I have easily, and so due to their excellent optimizing of the game's engine (big props to them) that'll run fine too
The only thing on my PC that I'm not entirely happy with is the RAM. I have a ton of programs and processes running and I actually reach 5.5 ish GB on a regular basis.
i7 2600k @ 4.8ghz, Cooled by a Corsaid H100 Water cooling system 12GB Kingston Triple Channel ram 3TB Storage (3x Samsung spinpoint f3) 120GB Corsair SSD Twin MSI 6950 2GB cards. Twin frozr III editions
Plays BF3 maxed out at a steady 60FPS.
Seriously ? I take it you are cool with upgrading quite frequently and not gaining any benefits, cool story.
