...I think I have it.

Discuss.

Also, this is like one of those threads where someone gets drunk or high for the first time and then comes on here to make a thread about being so drunk or so high for the first time, except I just can't sleep and want to talk about insomnia.

How long do you stay up late and do you really try to go to sleep or you just sit up late in front of the fucking computer/tv without trying to lie down and relax for at least 15 minutes?

Sleeping trouble is not the same as insomnia. When people say insomnia, they usually aren't able to sleep for days then they "crash" after about 3-5 days of no sleep. At least the ones I know experience that.

If you want a quick solution without buying pills, go drink a shot or 2 of Jagermeister. It won't get you drunk but it'll make you very sleepy. Not tequila, not vodka...Jagermeister.

I try and sleep for about an hour each night. Around 11pm-midnight. Lights off, TV off, monitor off, eyes closed.

No dice so I usually just end up on the computer or something trying to pass the time.

try everything off except the tv. keep the tv the only thing on and watch it until your eyes begin to get drowsy. then when you notice its morning and you've slept :sohappy: works for me

11pm-12am might be too early. I usually go to sleep around 1-2am. Try exercising or do some extra work during the day and just wait 'til you feel a little sleepy.

Read/Study while laying down. If that shit doesn't make you go to sleep, at least it was more beneficial than staying online. Just saying.

If you have tv in your room, turn all the lights off and watch it. If not then just read a book for awhile, study, or listen to music really quiet, just enough to get you distracted as to not have nothing on your mind.

I'm envious of you--I would get a lot more work done if I didn't favor sleep so much.

Doesn't seem to matter what time of day, how much sleep I've already had, if I've just woken up, I can always use another 2 hour nap. It's not to say I can't get out of bed--I've ran on 2 hours sleep when need be plenty of times but that just means I'll be out for a solid 1-2 days afterward. I even catch myself consciously making bad choices for the sake of more sleep ex:

12th grade, last semester, 2 exams left but instead of just getting up and taking the exams I thought to myself "I have high 80's even if I don't take the exam and accept the zero I'll still pass with a high 50. Plus these courses don't really matter...." of course my best ended up coming over and dragging me out from my ankles.

It just goes on debating on why sleep is more important. Even now I have 5 logo concepts to create for a client that are needed by Tuesday but in my head I'm thinking "I've got Monday so let's just sleep in today,".

Anyway, besides the point, try going for runs before bed time? Anything to physically fatigue you really.

Well, I've never had any problems sleeping.

But, If the problem is that you don't feel tired at all, then keep yourself busy and do not go to bed until you are sleepy.
Also give yourself a "relaxed state of mind and body" whatever that means for you. etc. TV, talking with people, before you go to sleep.
Well, It's something worth a try

You'd think so, but like...as well as being not tired, I'm also really unmotivated to do anything. Like I'll browse some websites, play some WoW, start an achievement or quest in WoW, then lose interest in it and go back to just being awake.

I used to be unable to sleep, but I'd rarely get up and go on the computer or stuff like that. I'd just lie there and eventually get 1-2 hours of sleep =\

Tried different things like putting on a movie and lying down while watching it, that sometimes worked. Tried the reading a textbook thing like cpin mentioned but then I'd have a textbook on my bed and the light on. Uncomfortable and didn't work for me.

I just overcame it eventually. You could try things that will make you sleep..like getting really drunk and passing out. Sometimes it's just one good night of sleep that'll get you back on track. Depends really.

Holy crap.. That doesn't sound very healthy
Seriously, talk with your doctor about your sleep issues.

curve you can be 100% normal but you think you got sth.. wont allow you to sleep.. its all in your head. go take a warm shower close your eyes and see what happens. dont think about any thing. some times if you got to much on your mind you wont be able to sleep(a girl for example) stop looking in the eye candy thread thats why you got problems D:

I am completely opposite to insomnia, I have an illness called ME and I can never feel refreshed after sleeping and feel tired 24/7..But there are some nights, where I cannot sleep and will feel restless and agitated.

Medicated sleep is always terrible to wake up from. I also don't like weed really, so eh.

Well, I could say, go farking drill some hole, but it's imposible, since we're all are a douchebags, and we'll never get laid, so live with it. And if you really wanna go sleep, you should find some pretty girl and be her best friend, so you could possibly by any way sleep with her. You now girl - gay stuff. So like after few months, when your best pretty girl friend, which is actually a mediacorewhore, is dropped by her hottest guy in the school she'll cry on your should. Get her drunk and drill her hole, like a boss.
