1. University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign 2. Purdue University 3. University of Michigan - Ann Arbor 4. University of Minnesota - Twin Cities 5. University of Wisconsin 6. Carnegie Mellon University 7. Penn State 8. SUNY University at Buffalo 9. Rochester Institute of Technology 10. Polytechnic Institute of NYU
Does anyone here go to any of these schools? Or have any like input about these colleges? But more importantly, does anyone know anything about University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign?

My dad went to RIT, if it's of any importance to yo. Suny buffalo I heard is nice, just really cold. A lot of people in my area go there. No idea about the first 2, 4-6, 10. I mean NYU is nice, but idk about polytechnic. Penn State is nice too.

To me it seems people go to them because they really dont kno what to do, and it seems like the "right" thing that you are supposed to do. My advice, go to a Technical college or community college, pay like $1000 a quarter instead of $5k+. See how you sit in your life after 2 years, transfer to a 4 year if you feel it necessary or just be happy with $25-$30 an hour and NO loans.. Just my 2 cents =] Also on topic, Wisconsin has a very nice campus and is right in the middle of a large city (Madison) so there is ALOT to do. Few members of family have graduated there, nice engineering program you obviously haven't had asian parents

I applied to urbana engineering and got in, I know their undergrad is pretty easy to get into especially for residents. They also offer a very nice discount to in state people. Their grad school (especially comp sci) is hard to get in though.

Guess my plain ole white parents and their low expectations will have to do =[ Just giving my perspective, I guess I'll purpetually look at college negatively because I cant get my mind off of how f.ucking much it costs lol. Loans for the next 15 years sounds like a drag lol.

Few members of family have graduated there, nice engineering program I have to agree. I'm enrolled in the CUNY system and it's working for me just fine. I just didn't find any merit in paying $5,000 for dorm fees and $25,000-$30,000/year unless it's coming out of my own pocket. I was offered money to go to some fancy private universities but I'd rather not until I'm going to Columbia University for my masters degree or something. Oh, and I have Asian parents. =p
