First look trailer
After name-dropping the Dead Island sequel at E3 in June, Deep Silver drops the first visuals and details on Dead Island: Riptide, which challenges the original four survivors to live up to the label once again.
They thought they were safe, but this is a zombie game — no one is ever truly safe. A powerful monsoon strikes just as the four heroes of Dead Island think their safe, destroying their rescue vessel and stranding them on the island resort once again.
Don't expect the same lush locales, however — the island has been transformed by the monsoon. Large areas have been destroyed, streets are flooded — in one of the new screens they find themselves on a boat, surrounded by water bound undead.
Nowhere is safe. For the fab four, which makes it fortunate that a new character with a mysterious new skill set is joining the crew. That's sure to help out during the game's new hub defense missions, which tasks players to set up defenses in advance of the oncoming hordes.
Otherwise it sounds like a lot of the same thing, only different, and that's what a sequel is supposed to be.

For PC, single player survial with RPG elements. and as for when its being relased? well as i said before it was first spoken of way back in 2007 so your guess is as good as mine
Dead Island will be coming out on the PC, PS3 and 360 and will feature a 4 player co-op and RPG elements in an FPS game where players have to use their brains and be smart to survive.
yep, as your gain exp you can level up your character adding new skils and abilities (more stamina powerful attacks, faster lock picking etc...)
Also from the very start of the game the ENTIRE island will be open to you. Meaning you can follow the set missions given to you (survive long enougth to escape the island), or you can explore into the zombie infected jungle to follow side quests and find others to help you.
Also Weapons are upgradedable and can be repaired (the more you use a weapon the more damage it takes meaning after x amount of hits it becomes useless unless fixed). Finding workshops and pieces of other weapons means you can combine them to create intesting zombie killing tools.

Not really. as its a 3rd/1st person RPG game which is more based around surviving through any means...rather then shooting zombies like a super soldier with ammo, health and guns every few 100 yards.

Yes there is co-op, but this game is about quests and surviving. Calling it the same as L4D is like comparing Mario Strikers to FIFA 2010 because they both have footballs in them. If anything this game is more alike to the fallout games.
game looks very interesting, looking forward to more info.
