Hi there! Right now I`m farming myself a euro char on the new server Mena. I`m still undecided what build I wanna make it, so I need some help from you guys. I want the char to be: - not too hard to handle (too much weapon-switching would get me confused ) - a good partner for a cleric/bard @alexandria cave, forgotten world, jobbing(hunter), etc. (my wife plays that build) Looking forward to some good comments that help me with my decision!

Well, all those styles you mentioned above requires some weapon switching. But i would go with rogue/cleric tho.

Well, it should only not be too much weapon switching (i.e. rogue/warrior 5different weapons). 2 or 3 would be ok. Could you tell me why you prefer rogue/cleric over the others?

warlock/cleric or rogue/cleric....if its only the 2 of you partying then go for mobs that are either your lvl or 3-4 lvls lower and keep to low spawn areas so taking out pt mobs is easier.

No, its not just us two partying. But we are doing all the other stuff together most of the time. The things I mentioned in my first post.
Could u explain a bit, why warlock/cleric or rogue/cleric?

See some vids of how warlocks grind to know why I say warlocks. Your wife will mostly be a healer for you.
As for rogues; after lvl 20 with CE they can 1-2 shot the mobs you will grind on, and in case of giants or pt mobs u can take of CE to kill em off with dagger and DD while ur wife will do heals and add some extra dps. PLEASE grind on mobs that you know you can kill w/o dying and in low spawn areas. it is very hard for 2 ppl to kill more than a limited number of monsters in a party especially when party monsters come into the mix.

oic, i guess there is a missunderstanding here. the new char will be plvld and is then later leveling in 8/8 pts or soloing.
i really want it to be good for the things from my first post. (pvp 1v1; not too hard to handle; jobbing(hunter)/forgotten world/alex cave with my wife; ...). so leveling isn`t really an importan point to me.

rogues are excellent soloers but can be added into a party with a cleric becomes an unstoppable force just about.if you both a cleric sub then when you take too much damage you can do a small bless from each of you to take less damage.

oh well, that`s somewhat what I thought, too. 4ppl voted warrior/cleric, 1rogue/cleric and here some said rogue/cleric. All in all, it didnt become much clearer to me what I should take. ^^
- rogue/warrior is by far too much weapon switching for me.
- warrior/cleric is super strong in pvp, but not as good for unique hunting, jobbing(at least for npc thieves) and I don`t know how fast he is at killing (cave/forgotten world).
- warlock/cleric was the build I wanted to take in the beginning. I watched some videos which looked cool, but I don`t really know much about this build. seems like there are way more skills to use than the other builds need. plus I don`t know if he`s still good in 1v1 vs euro chars (holy spell?)
- rogue/cleric dagger looks nice and does good damage, xbow has great range for unique kills or when jobbing (to kill player thieves before they can reach the trade), but not for the spawn. once again, I dont know how good it is for cave/forgotten world(fast killing) or how good the build will compete in 1v1 pvp (good damage, but how good will he survive?)

Warrior/Rogue - Combines the stun locking and tanking abilities of warrior with the high damage of rogues. Yes it is a very expensive build and very hard to master so not really recommended for you if you are starting new. Warrior/Cleric - The 2nd most popular build to be found in sro which combines tanking, good damage and high survivability. It can use 1,2 or 3 weapons at once providing you with a lot of room to mix and match your skills. Warlock/Cleric - Arguably the fastest pve grinder in sro and an almost OP build. Now a little weakened by the loss of trap/sleep bug it is still a very potent build in pvp.Although yes holy word/spell does leave nearly all debuffs ineffective and leave only a single possible combo for victory in case of pure str builds. It is still however a very good build that will not disappoint in pvp. It does however have a lot of skills, requires a lot of farming and does have a bit of a learning curve especially for pvp. Please remember that this class' strength lies in its ability to debuff/disable and dish out high dps. Not in burst damage like a wizards nukes or a warrior or rogue's crits. Rogue/Cleric - An underestimated char, it works wonders in groups and is a very good build over all. At later levels with a decent set it has some very nice survivability in 1v1 pvp(see some videos of good pvpers to see what i mean) after bladers, warriors and glaviers. Please keep in mind that like most mmorpg's SRO's rogue is a 1v1 specialist both in pvp and pve. It has no area skills but with stealth and other skills it can effectively play the role of an assassin using either xbow(sniper) or daggers(ninja). Finally, A build that is good in group pvp and duelling is a criteria that is easily fulfilled by any of these chars when played well. However, unique hunting is a different matter. Try to understand that with the prevalent childish mentality in the minds of sro's players it is very difficult for 1 to actually find and kill a unique when it spawns, even if you do manage to find it b4 it dies you will have a lot of competition as several ppl will be trying to kill it(mostly wizards and rogues). So Rogue/Cleric would probably fulfill your needs best given group pvp, duelling, caves and unique hunting. If you feel like taking another build, please do so. I think I've summarized all the aforementioned builds decently in this post

Oh well, I`m afraid I have to revive this thread one more time.
My wife decided not to go cleric/bard anymore. Instead she wants to make her char warrior(2h+dual)/cleric.
That made me thinking what combo would be deadlier? 1. 2 Warriors buffing each other to become the ultimate tanks with good damage. or 2. Just one Warrior buffing a rogue who then got good defense, probably higher damage than the warrior and a high range.
This is just about everything where pvp come into play, not unique hunting, pve etc.

This is just about everything where pvp come into play, not unique hunting, pve etc. why not 2h/1h? do that, its more deadly with the extra phy def and br for improved def and 2h for high dmg. I would still go for warlock/cleric. More chances to interrupt opponents. Ofc holy spell would be a bitch. For pvp only it wont really matter much on which class you both choose and more on how you work in tandem and how well each of you play's. Every combinationa of characters has several possible ways to deal with a given situation so it wont really matter. I suggest that if pvp is your only concern then just go with what you enjoy as there really is no "best" class for this scenario.

She wants the dual axes, because she likes the looks of the attacks so much. Can`t really blame her for that. You might be right that every build can be great, when played well. It`s a tough choice though. I`m already farming skillpoints for 17days now and everyday it`s a struggle for me not to start playing yet(680k SP atm). So when I can finally start, I want to have picked a build which was worth the time farming and not regret it in the end. Since I never really played any of these chars at a higher lvl, it`s all just gambling for me. They all look fun in videos. I still have some days to make the final decision and to find the right build for me.

Given that you guys are gonna do it all together the best for you might be: wiz/cleric(high dmg and backup buffs/ress, not as good/fun in 1v1 imo) warlock/cleric(dot's, debuffs, buffs, ress) bard/cleric(all the best buffs, forget about 1v1) warrior/cleric(I dont recommend this as you guys would be just tnking thru it all and killing slowly in pve, would work well for pvp tho i guess though it involves weapon switching which is one of the main advantage of warriors in pvp, i.e. stun locking the opponent) Cleric sub is advisable so you could ress each other
